Fowler can be extended after July 1. I'm sure Murray and Fowler have exchanged #'s on a new contract already. IF they're too far apart, then Fowler will be traded this offseason. He has 1 year left on his contract before he becomes UFA.

Lindholm will be protected, as will Fowler (if not traded), and because Bieksa has a NMC, he has to be protected. I don't see that happening. He'll either be asked to waive his NMC to be exposed to the draft, or he'll be bought out. Ducks then protect Manson, and trade Vatanen this off season (imo). If Fowler is traded, then they protect Manson, Lindholm, and Vatanen.

Id imagine Beaulieu and Plek are both potentially exposed from MTL and both could be considerations for Vegas. Beaulieu is young, has ups and downs but for a new team its a decent risk. Plek is losing his role in MTL and they can only protect so many so he may be exposed. If he is its decent veteran leadership. He can center the second line still and could provide 40+ points with responsible defensive play and decent face-off win%.

Nobody else on the habs will either go unprotected or is worth a damn.

He's certainly helping his ability to get moved right now, but the Pens won't get a significant return.

Getting him off the books is the real return.

Would love a pre expansion draft list for each team or at least a possible one this could be a second trade deadline so many players with ntc makes you wonder if there might be a few big names out there

Murray already has a cup in his coffers. There's no way he isn't the goalie for the Pens. THe only reason Fleury is even in net right now is because Murray got hurt.

General Manager Tim Murray and Head Coach Dan Bylsma have been relieved of their duties.

Can't see any way that Murray or Fowler will go to Vegas via draft. The Pens and Ducks will both utilize buyouts on other players before they are forced into such a scenario.
