While this is probably true, we are talking about a Leafs team that made it to the playoffs, while they were all rookies.

The Sabres, while 23 and 15 were rookies, had 9,90, and others who were already veterans. And we finished bottom 10.

What the Leafs did/are doing is beyond disheartening to me.

Good read. Die hard leaf fan here who wanted a proper rebuild to happen back in 2004. I have an insight and it is my opinion and i do welcome your feedback whether i am right or wrong. I feel that GMTM may have rushed it a little bit last summer and before that with the Kane trade. Too many young assets were traded away to speed things up in becoming a cup contender sooner rather than later. I don't know how quickly the traded assets were coming along but i do feel they needed another yr or two before they would be NHL ready. I think that anoyher 2 yrs with those assets ripening would create at least 5 to 8 yrs of cup contention and the possibility of becoming a juggernaut in the east.
I always enjoyed the battle of the QEW back in the day and it would be amazing if that can happen again in the near future for years to come. Can't beat the headlines of Auston vs Jack and sibling rivalry.

Varly who was cleared of this and no charges were filed.... the was sued by this girl in a civic trial...the juror actually ruled in favour of Varly who found her at fault for emotional stress and she had to pay him for his legal fees. So yeah what mistake did he do?

Hes been nothing but the ultimate pro and team player with the Avs. Honestly I just think he hated being coached by Nolan and soured on the Sabres. You never know what is going on behind the scenes.

He might have been 'immature" during his time with the Sabres, thats not the case with the Avs. I am just giving the gears back to this guy the same way he does against the trade, just cherry picking things

I posted it when he got moved, attitude, work ethic, meetings, teammates and coaches. There were many things and some want to compare him to ROR and or Kane and it isn't even close, as much as some won't agree with me.

If that was the case back then, it does not appear to be the case now. All the coverage of him on the Avs has been very top notch. Accepting of being in the AHL, praising his coaching staffs for working with him after practice etc.

Im sure being traded was a wake up call for him if he was like that at all bc the beat writers I'm twitter friends with say hes one of the best guys they get to cover.
