If it is true***** Then it is pretty damming stuff towards Bylsma.
Not sure how you can keep him after that is said.

Also, if it indeed was handcuffing Eichel, he should only be better next year, right?

- ImThatGuy

He was already going to be better next year, and he was damn good this past year.

Other than Okposo Gio Gorges and maybe Mouls (years ago) no one on this team has ever won in this league yet

Can we all just agree this Bernard guy is the absolute opposite of someone with hockey knowledge? He reminds me of the mothers in the stands of little league games yelling what to do.

I don't know why Buffalo fans and WGR "talent" is so concerned with the Leafs. Speculating about whether the Leafs would have made the playoffs if Marner, Nylander or Matthews were injured for the same number of games as Eichel and Kane were for the Sabres? Really?

The Sabres had a LOSING record with and without Eichel in the lineup. Their record with Kane wasn't much better. SO?

Imagine if the Leafs didn't blow all those leads this past regular season?. 15 OT or SO losses. I'd say at least a dozen or so points squandered.

Imagine if Matthews didn't go 12-14 games without scoring a goal? How many more wins?

Does any of this matter? Nope. Its irrelevant. Good teams win, bad teams lose and throw the coach under the bus and or blame injuries or referees. Sabre fans should focs on their own team. The rebuild to date is a flop. No depth. Little top end talent available in junior or minors. Focus on Murray and the lousy job he's been doing.

- BernardShakey

it's a matter of depth, Bernie...the sabres don't have enough of it right now and for as much talent the leafs have, coached by one of the best in the business, I might add, I don't think the leafs have it quite yet either...

and as noted in the blog, they made it into the playoffs by one point...saying that Toronto would have one less loss with Matthews out of the lineup, as well as marner and/or Nylander, isnt' that far-fetched

I don't know if anyone knows about it here, but there is a podcast with baker, snow, and sylvester called the half hour hockey show.

Fairly interesting stuff. I'm halfway through today's.

They were pretty brutal on the team and rightfully so.

If you have a podcast app, it's worth a subscription and a listen.

I have a hard time taking Peters and Rivet seriously when they're solution is ALWAYS have clearly bottom six guys playing top line minutes.

Edit: Their** They're, there improper usage drive me NUTS.

Maybe they would've won all 9 shoot outs they were in.

Maybe Hyman would've stepped up with hatricks in each game.

Maybe Andersen would have stopped a beach ball in the first 10 games of the season.

Hard to say really

It doesn't hurt that they're getting career years from every player on their roster. Good luck counting on that from year to year.
- Hatboro_Swords

I mean, it's hard for the rookie group's years not to be career years, as they are the only years in their respective careers.

Our top d-man had his worst year.

It isnt.
But the leafs choked away 17 points in the last 5 minutes of games. Had they not for half, they would have finished higher in the standings.

Anyone listening to WGR this morning?

Jeremy White allegedy***** was told that Eichel went last during the exit interviews and the team gave him a message to tell the GM that the coach is the problem and it needs to be addresed. Potential day of reckoning.

7AM segment, worth the listen IMO.

I see this as a big locker room divide, and not an easy mess to clean.

Are they actually going to give in to the demands of 20 and 21 year old's who might legitimately have no clue what a good NHL coach is?

It's not like they were on some powerhouse team who hired a pee-wee coach.
