At the peak of my fast food eating I wanted to attempt the Wendy's home run which is a single, double, triple and a baconator in that order, in one sitting

that's like that guy who ate McDonald's food for a month and documented it on film. His doctor begged him to get off it or he was gonna have a jammer.

Fast food 3-4 times per week is terrible. It's a good issue to take a stand on. Get the kids into running. I am a bigger guy but got into track at a young age and kept up running into my adult years. Best way to keep the lbs off
- CanuckDon

My Kids school has this program where they have a running class around the field before school. For every lap the kids get a ticket stub that they can trade in for books and other educational crap. I ran three laps with my youngest (my eldest bailed after two). I couldn't believe how many parents took the opportunity to run with their kids.

It's a great idea. And I need to become more active as well.

Right now I got both in basketball and swimming. No hockey yet but I try and get them on the ice as much as possible in winter.

I don't know why he would leave. He's got a perfect situation in Buffalo. He's the main man. The BMOC. It's his team and he will be able to influence team direction.

I never understand why athletes bail on a perfectly good situation. Kind of like Vince Carter/Tracy McGrady fiasco. That duo could have created something special in TO but for selfish reasons left... only to become footnotes in NBA history. So stupid.

His sincere lack of alpha balls leaves him wanting to be sheltered underneath Matthews Sutter sized gonads. Same reason Tavares will flee for the comforts of nestling under Matthew's Alpha balls.

It's like anything...moderation is the key. Nothing wrong with a teen burger once in awhile as long as it's not 5 times/week.

Plus exercise. My GF changes diets 4 times per year but doesn't really get the results she wants because she refuses to get out and exercise 2-3 times per week.

Tough to protect them from it. My parents rarely fed me the stuff, but the moment I had got control of my own money I was at McD's all the time. I was lucky to have a very high metabolism at the time, but it came back to haunt me once my playing days were over. Its taken 5 years to recover from the damage I did

So true. That's why it's really hard to keep the weight off as you age if you don't change what you eat.

This is the gods honest truth, my dad owned three Burger Kings, two Swenson's (ice cream) stores, a Dairy Queen, and a Mother's Pizza while I was between the ages of 9 - 22.

Think about that for a second.

I think this is a disagreement over opinion. Buffalo ain't that bad in comparison. New Jersey has a bad rap but much of it is really nice. Much more 'country' than its reputation.

I've driven from Nova Scotia to FLA three times in my youth. Great trips. Loads of big city stops along the way. This is the honest truth, downtown Washington is one of the most scary places in North America. It is a gang infested poop hole. Even along the Mall, outside the Smithsonian, in front of any monument. It's crazy. Drive a minute or two away from all the government building and its all ghetto. Like, really bad ghetto.

Philly, Pitts, Hartford, and Baltimore too. Cultural ghettos and mass poverty. American dream my ass.

- bloatedmosquito

When did you make that trip ? The 90's? Times have changed. Those cities have problems or poor areas just like all big cities. But it's not their downtowns. Especially DC buddy that place has had rampant upscale money flooding it for years now. More construction of new high end apartment buildings all over. But if you go through the rust belt that's some decaying territory with rampant poor conditions for sure.

LOL...the irony of that Supersize Me situation was that it's the same if you ate 20 oranges per day for a month...you'd be sick as fu**ck. I know people who eat breakfast at McDiks every morning and live off white bread/milk and fatty foods and are doing just fine.

It was the only one of the bunch I actually worked in for about 6 months. You'd put on weight just breathing the air in that place but it was really good. I ate so many calzones...

Not really. Franchising was really profitable in the early days. Dad did well in the 70s and early 80s. But then everything got expensive; wages, fuel and utilities, shipping, produce, land lease, etc. good profit evaporated quickly until only the franchiser makes money now.

Moderation. So (frank)ing true. But unfortunately it's human nature to push the boundaries of our own health.

But how can a player be so dominant throughout the armature career and then turn submissive when they turn pro?

Definitely, moderation and balance is very important

I remember seeing this clip of Chad Johnson and his obsession with McDonald's yet he had like single digit body fat percentage and a top NFL reciever:
