They do have Jannik Hansen and he did come from a team notorious for embellishing calls

Thorton has been a diver since day 1, We are slowly ridding ourselves of that crap. Burrows + Kesler are already gone

Which is funny since the Wild are also about to get swept. Hard to make fun of another team when your team is in the same sinking boat

Draisaitl is having a hearing for doing exactly the same thing Crosby did which the NHL didn't feel warranted a hearing.

Am I missing something here?

Golden child has a free pass because he's "just playing hard out there". Everyone else has to spread 'em.

Edit for sarcasm: Also the leagues consistency in discipline is KEY! Integrity matters.

Burn the tape, move on. We outplayed them way worse in game 2 but they had solid goaltending. Talbot will be a wall tomorrow night.

Now onto reffing, and I agree we were going to get smoked no matter what last night, but this reffing has been ridiculous. 22-12 or something the PP's? How is Russells penalty called and how is it hooking if your going to call it? Kassians may have been the biggest joke call of the playoffs. Then you get Caggulia getting smoked from behind into the boards, no call. Every scrum its the Oiler player getting singled out and getting the penalty. And the sharks look like the Red Wings out there throwing picks left and right, especially on the one goal. No poop they got the PP working, they have all the time in the world.

I kinda hope Leon gets suspended, he's been useless anyways. Not moving his feet and really been invisible all series long.

Before tonight SJ hadnt scored in two games and had 39 shots in those games, and Rat and Jumbo were both in.

Your 'realism' seems to be ignoring some numbers, and giving the Sharks far too much credit. Oilers let one snowball. It happens. I would be shocked if SJ wins in Edmonton.

- TheTaoOfSemenko

In the first game, Rat was in. In the second game, well the Oilers dominated after a certain point. In the third game, Jumbo was in but you could tell he was rusty. Once the 4th game came in, you could see that Jumbo and Rat were shaking of any bit of rust that was evident in the previous games. Jumbo, Burns, and Rat had a great G4.

You're also overvaluing the value of shots. The Oilers had just 3 goals within those 2 games. Most of the games seemed like it was a tight game until one team broke out. SJ broke out in G1 (2nd period), Edmonton broke out in G2 (2nd period), Edmonton broke out in G3 (3rd period), but the games were relatively close (other than G2, but SJ beat 'em way worse in G4). Also, SJ, other than G2 had just as many shots as Edmonton had.

In G4, we saw SJ show what they are truly capable of at their highest level. They stomped Edmonton to the ground in the fullest form. If you think that this is just 1 game and it will be ignored, well I hope you're ready for a big surprise. It's only going to get tougher for Edmonton from here, especially considering the age group of the core.

We haven't seen what Edmonton is capable of at their highest level yet in the playoffs.

If San Jose was such a better team than us they wouldn't have finished lower in the standings.

And yet we're still tied :

I ain't gonna deepthroat the sharks. We all know how good they are. Top to bottom they hold a number of advantages. But Neither am I gonna exclaim the sky is falling. the oilers are a quality team in their own right.

We obviously need to stay out of the box which is gonna take better decisions from us and the refs not buying everything those sneaky vet fuks sell.

If I was told before the series, that after 4 games we'd be tied at 2 going home for game 5, idve taken that and ran.
It was one game, we're ok

No.

They Got some early calls and cashed in.

Martin made a few big saves when we tried to push back abit early. And then it snowballed when Connor took a stupid stupid penalty to put us down 2 men. Game over

It was inevitable that the disgusting 5 man unit they can put out on the pp was gonna catch fire if we kept giving them chances

From Mercury News:

It didn’t seem to bother the Oilers that when a few of them first went on the ice, they had to spend a few minutes skating around in a dimply-lit arena.

“It’s a little different. I don’t mind it,” Oilers forward Zack Kassian said, “because we have a couple of ugly guys on the team so we don’t have to look at them.”
