If they were gonna resign themselves to losing, the least they could've done was give enough effort to not let every important player on their team build up their confidence. Instead, now they're heading back home on their heels at the risk of losing one of the few advantages they have left (home ice) because their big boys are raring to go and ours (aside from Talbot) are far from it.
It's just one game but one game is all it takes to shape the outcome of an entire series. - MaximumBone
Dude, the game snowballed. it happens.
Especially against a vet team that's been in this position many times. Did anyone think this wasn't gonna be the toughest game yet?
Maybe it is a series definer. But it's not like the kids weren't aware the sharks were capable of this.
They'll shake it off and be back next game |

Maybe Todd should slip a few G notes under the refs door. We might come out on the right end of the penalty calls.

Refs aren't allowing any fights and adding more penalty minutes wasn't going to accomplish anything tonight.
Burn the tape from tonight and start fresh Thursday. Nothing else can be done. - Wildschwein
I was merely referring to stepping up his role in the locker room and utilize his playoff experience after this game and during the trip back to Edmonton, same goes for Sekera.
They NEED to lead by example next game, provide some stabilization, and levy some confidence back into the group. They've dealt with situations like this before, they'll know best as to what to do. |

Did you idiots know that your team was forced to practice in the dark with no nets today in San Jose?:

Yeah, it's pretty dumb and frankly petty of the Sharks, but if that game was how the Oil respond to that then that's even more sad. |

The Sharts are the most classless organizstion. You see them taking dives all the time? Pathetic! Nurse barely touches the guy and he crumples.
Sorry about the "idiots" part. I wae reading the first page and was like, what a bunch of idiots.
Anyway, Go Oil! Kill the Sharts! |

I won't say they're diving hard this series, but they definitely seem to be taking advantage of knowing how to draw penalties- particularly in these playoffs. Combine that with the refs calling things that were completely ignored in the Oilers' regular season and you get what we've got now. It's completely the opposite of what you usually expect in the playoffs.
As for the 'idiots' thing, no worries. Everyone around here already greets eachother using FAR worse words and names; an insult only serves it's purpose if you react to it...

San Jose in no way wanted to go back to Edmonton down 3-1. They were always going to come out at their most desperate. Oilers had a couple things go against them early and the game got away. It happens. I fully expect them to come out raging next game. |

Young team. New to playoffs. Little things can throw off a mojo.
Next game I suggest locals park outside their hotel and blare air horns all night long. |

I'm a realist. Since the beginning of the series, I've been saying Burns and SJ will beat Edmonton by G6 IF the rat and Jumbo are back in by G2 or G3 (early enough). SJ has the better defensive structure (overall, thus including forwards where SJ has great two way players such as Jumbo, the rat, and Pavelski to name a few) in comparison to Edmonton.
I would LOVE to be proven wrong, but I must conform with reason, not illusions.
This playoff run is gonna be a great one in terms of a learning experience, but that's about it. - NoRussian
Before tonight SJ hadnt scored in two games and had 39 shots in those games, and Rat and Jumbo were both in.
Your 'realism' seems to be ignoring some numbers, and giving the Sharks far too much credit. Oilers let one snowball. It happens. I would be shocked if SJ wins in Edmonton. |

So they lost the actual game because, unlike the practice, the lights were on and the nets existed. Solid thinking.

A bunch of people on Oilers FB pages were already talking about it. I have little doubt that even if the Oilers themselves dont pull something, the locals certainly will. Good on them too. Bush league crap from SJ.
Anyone else getting tired of everyone, including our own PBP guys, stroking and blowing the Sharks every time they so much as make a pass? |

22 powerplays for the Sharks
12 for the Oilers.
Edmonton only gave up 6 powerplays in a game twice this season. They were disciplined.
You're telling me that some how changed in the playoffs where apparently refs let the players play? Calling big time bullpoop. |

The reffing has been somewhat...odd for sure, but can't really blame tonights poopshow on reffing. Theyve been getting called for pretty much everything all series and ruthlessly shut down the Sharks PP until tonight. Seemed like after that call on Macdavid to put them up 5 on 3 everything just fell apart.
I don't really like the way this series is being called either but a debacle like tonight is all on them. |

Theres been some sketchy calls all series long. Some obvious ones as well don't get me wrong. But poop shouldnt be called in the playoffs. Especially roughing and stuff after the whistle. |

Big guns need to wake up and wake up now. 2 goals 5 on 5 in 4 games is not good. Kassian is a nice story and all but we need Macdavid and co. to be the story. |
