Not in all countries though..
It is one of the reasons why I completely stopped following football though..
(another main reason is the utter imparity between teams, leaving only a few teams in Europe with the best players in the world) - MaximusAurelius
In the Scottish Premier League, it's been 32 years since a team other than Rangers and Celtic won the championship.
What the hell is the point in watching any team from that league?

Yeah, another Tim Peel special. He's this generation's Kerry Fraser.
Throwing poop on the playing surface only serves to make the fans look bad. I don't know if there are any rules allowing for a penalty against the home team resulting from fan behaviour. It sounds like a good idea on the surface but would surely invite visiting fans to try and get a penalty called on the home team thereby endangering players, officials and other fans.
Good call on your part waiting out the tards before heading home. Also, in the rain nobody can see you cry. - BlueBallz
Got a cool McAvoy tshirt though. Hadn't gotten any Bruins stuff in forever so figured I'd treat myself after that loss

I grew up a yuge Celtic supporter ....haven't watched a SPL game in 4 years. The talent has left and the 'Gers went into administration. It's 3rd division football now.
They're everywhere. Just personally these are the only two places where I've heard stories of unprovoked violence/threats coming.
I've seen it happen at the ACC. Well actually it was in Union Station. STORY TIME!
I used to attend every Leafs home opener with my brother and two friends. My brother and I Leafs fans, the other two friends Habs fans.
Now, to give a visual, at 6'1 and 205 I am the smallest of the 4 guys. My brother and the other 2 are all tradesmen that are pretty cut. Going further, the one Habs fan, Dave, is a half native, bearded scary mofo at about 6'5 and 250 of muscle.
Remember Commuters Lounge? Leafs just came off a big W in the home opener so we all decided to wash down the previous 12-15 beers with a couple more in there. Lots of friendly jeers and taunts were thrown at our friends but of course some 5 foot nothing twat and his gang of office workers get into Daves face and start cussing him up and down "Leafs rule motherf***er" "get the f*** out of Toronto". He's calm but the smallest one put's a hand on him and all hell breaks loose. Dave grabs the dude by the face and proceeds to use the pudgy little (frank)er as a weapon against his friends. He just kept ramming the dude backwards into each one as they weren't really sure what to do. This all only lasted about 30 seconds as two cops were watching the entire thing. Best part, pudgy (frank)er got dragged off in handcuffs and the cops told Dave to have a good night.

Someone needs to let Patrick O'Sullivan know he's hosting a show called LEAFS Lunch.
Jesus he's a negative Nancy.
"Andi, are you going to be a leafs fan girl all day or are we going to be able to have an intelligent hockey conversation"
He must be so fun at parties. - Sheppy99
1050 needs to release them ASAP. It makes my ears bleed listening to them. Sullivan has the (Bob McCowan) pauses going on today. Brutal, plain and simple.
