Although extremely unlikely, Krueger would be a perfect fit for this team moving forward. - Whiskey-Tango
I don't know much about him, why is everyone so high on this guy? |

Because he has the ability to produce something out of nothing...and here we have nothing...except Horvat lol.
He didn't get a fair shake in EDM either under the Lowe/MacT show as well. |

But is there some concrete evidence that he's a solid choice or do people just "think" he's good because he had some success in Edmonton for half a season?
At the NHL level I just don't see much of a track record. |

The guy's basically a walking self-help book of confidence and team building.
Hockey wise, he went 19-22-7 with that horrible 2012 Oiler's team, which itself is pretty amazing when contrasted against the records of his pre and post replacements.
Took probably the weakest Hockey World Cup team (Europe) to the finals.
But it's his off-ice stuff that pretty interesting:
" He has been described as a great communicator, positive thinker and a motivator. The book he authored (in German, also translated into French), called Teamlife - Beyond Setbacks to Success, was devoted to handling problems in life, and became a bestseller".
" He is also known for his involvement in the World Economic Forum, where since 2011 he has been a Member, Global Agenda Council on New Models of Leadership".
Pretty sure he's got degree's in Psychology as well.
For a team stacked full of developing kids, I like his expertise. |

The man is not a God.
That said, for a team that should be more interested in building a new identity and developing a new base as opposed to purely 'winning', I think he would be a pretty good choice.

I'm being facetious, obviously, I guess I'm just wondering if he can be an effective coach as well as a great teacher/communicator. |

Fair enough....the mentality of the management team and ownership "should" be to develop and grow players from within, maybe he can help with that. All conjecture at this point. |

After Elliott tweeted out the Canuck interest in Kreuger, several of the first responses were "noooooo we want Green or Crawford!!!!"

Maybe Freidman got it mixed up and Krueger is being looked at to take Linden's job
On his role as director of Southampton:
Still, it was different. It was overwhelming.
"It was like, what are you doing, Ralph?" Krueger said. "Like, budgets coming up to $200 million? How do you live with that? What we did was we started with nothing, we built a new management team, we got rid of everybody. There was zero board, zero executive board, everything has been rebuilt."
Last season, Southampton finished sixth in the league, their highest-ever finish in the Premier League era.

"For now" is an interesting statement to make via email. No one types that without consideration. This weekend is Week 34 of 38 for the EPL, so might not hear much more until next month |

Likely not very good.
The thing is however, If this guy joined the franchise he would undoubtedly be the smartest guy in the room. Perhaps he could convince or manipulate management & ownership into seeing the light. |

Finland playing Canada. Glad I recording it. Forgot it was on. Sweden playing USA at the same time. Get to see Liljegren play against the best team in the tournament. |
