I can't keep up with all the holeinone's on here, but generally, if you attack someone's team for no reason, I am going to call you a garbage poster. - Blackstrom2

I thought it was nice. Isn't the President's Trophy the ultimate goal for the Caps?
Go ahead, I'm a fan of a lottery team, have at me.
Also, I think your original post could have been taken multiple ways. |

If he passed the tests and told them he was good to go back in, what should they do? I doubt they put a gun to his head and told him they'd kill his family if he didn't go back in. - jmatchett383
Yeah, they are going to go over a few things to test for concussion symptoms and if he checks out ok, they'll put him back in no matter what his face looks like.
This is no different than back in 2008 when Malone had his face busted up but was out there playing anyway. Regular season would probably be completely different. Playoffs and down a defenseman already and down 0-2 in the series? He's going to play if he can. |

I made a comment about how, essentially, Dubinsky is a scumbag and Crosby wasn't surprised it was him. Some of you know how to respond to that comment, and some of you don't. Quit projecting, little Tanner.
-Blackstrom2
So when you typed that you didn't realize how that comment could be misconstrued as a back-handed insult?... As if Sid wouldn't stand up for himself from a dirty hit?
Classic mix-up then, I suppose. My apologies. |

The move that Sid does to simultaneously corral the puck and give himself spacing from the defender is absolute magic. No one does that better, he's so solid on his skates, even a defender the size of Savard gets knocked out of the way. |

I expected much more out of Columbus since Letang is supposed to be a major key player for the pens.

He is. The forwards are doing most of the heavy lifting, and Bob is playing like crap. |

He has facial fractures and is now out for the year. So he wasn't good to go back in. |

We'll see what happens down the road. But the depth upfront sounds a bit crazy.
Murray is out as well? |

He is. The minutes he eats alone are irreplaceable, let alone the playmaking/scoring ability from the back end. Yes he's till good for a brain fart retaliation penalty or a bad turnover now and then, but his positives way outweigh his negatives.
Columbus obviously couldn't take advantage of his absence.

Werenski seemed conscious and he was covering the blood with his gloves while he was down on the ice. I think if the refs had seen that pool of blood after Werenski got up they would have blown the play dead, but the Pens scored during the same motion.
Watching on TV it didn't look like it was that serious until he got up. |

They obviously didn't know that then but as a precaution he played with a full face shield so he was really in no more harm going back in other than the pain. |
