Oh red hair.... maybe we should just trade it
- mattmoulson

Yup, I was on board until I saw that pick. Just go with Mittelstadt and call it a day. He should be good about the time Eichel heads to the Bruins.

We win lotto guarantee it's Patrick unfortunately. I prefer Nico for this team obviously but teams won't risk passing up on Patricks potential

I think we can pry Ovechkin out of Washington before Niskanen.

I am not a big fan of Nico, he won't be Marner good.
Nico more closely projects to be an Ehlers type. Good guy to toss on a line to keep up with some talent but he is no driver

Oh my your going to regret not taking him ... You can save this

point taken, but you also need to take into consideration that this edition of the leafs have had everything going it's way all season as all of their top players played in nearly every game
- Michael Pachla

the thing you forget is anderson had an adjustment period where he couldnt stop a beachball. where the leafs have surpased you guys is with drafting. anyone can draft a mathews or eichel. its those later picks that make a team good. i have to laugh at someone suggesting that the leafs have no one in the pipeline. what they did is go hirer team owners/ gms that have sucess in the biggest hockey player supplier league in the world as scouts. the chl. the leafs salary structure is perfect. the sabres should have been more paitient with development and not went and got high priced players through trade and ufa.as for eichel being captian. bad move. great player but i dont think he gets along with everyone in the dressing room. as a leaf fan i hate your guts lol but in some way i do feel for ya.

I still think you take him at 2 after Patrick, but he has had a very discouraging end to his season. One of fancy stat guys who covers CHL Prospects and works as a consultant for the Avs tweeted some stuff about him recently. His Dev Model is pretty cool.

It's not the captain's job to get along with everyone. It's his job to set the example and to motivate the others.

Herb Brooks wanted his players to hate him.

Soft perimeter player! Pass!

But seriously, that's somewhat concerning.

Nah, all your difference makers are top 10 picks that could've been drafted by anyone in any of my fantasy football leagues who can read a list.

I think he has talent but this years production for a Top pick has been discouraging compared to other years...plus I'm sure he will get that Stinky at 2nd overall stigma if he doesnt produce quickly.

Hes not NHL ready in my mind, he needs another year of QMJHL and probably a full AHL season

Who knows why they moved him? I'm sure that played a part. But I think it was more of a philosophical difference between him and the team more so than relationships in the room.

QMJHL is the worst developmental league currently IMO. Not a very defensive league.

I don't think he can go straight to the AHL so he might have to play the Q.
Either way he needs some time. Even Patrick. These guys need to be back with their clubs next season.

who really knows whats going on in the sabres dressing room. kane got moved from the jets for being a problem. and i heard on hockey night in canada that eichel and rienhart dont care for each other. crap like that does matter and is only magnified when a team is not doing well.
