What are you talking about? They can barely afford to sign Brown and Hyman this year. And that's with letting Boyle and Polak go without replacing them. They basically have to trade JVR to have any hope of signing Nylander after next year, and then are they going to magic up like $14M for Matthews and Marner the year after?

I'm not going to say they're in cap hell, but they've got a ton of work to do to avoid it.

Yeah, Kadri at $4.5M, Andersen at $5M and Rielly at $5M all locked up for the next 5 years, with $15M in cap opening up after this season and more the next season, along with the cap going up is TOTALLY going to cripple the Leafs!

The Leafs don't have a single anchor contract or a contract over $5M at the moment, a sweeeet prospect pipeline and are run by one of the best management teams in the league.

In sports you have very few smart general mangers and coaches. There is no degree for that.it is all a buddy system. .75 %of these guys couldnt get jobs cleaning toilets. Regier didnt have a high school education. Murray is a drunk. Russ brandon kneels .the few like belicheck,babcock, lamoriello, holland they are smart.

What's Zaitsev going to get? At least $5M probably, yeah? Hyman and Brown won't get a ton, but probably $7M ish between them. They're not going to have a ton of room, but they'll have more than I thought they were.
