So you'd feel comfortable assuming that both Hagg and Morin will 1) both have great camps and 2) that both will be ready for a full 82 game NHL schedule next season without a Plan B? Would it be so bad to have a 7th/8th defenseman making $1M as a backup plan?
- jmatchett383

You had that in Schultz and let him walk. So yes, I think they are happy with what they have.

I think Hexy sees Morin and Hagg more than we do. I think he saw them play a few games with the big club and was as impressed as we were, the players were, and the coaches were.

I dont think there are many options out there that you can sign for a year a 1m that wouldnt have any of the worries that come with Morin or Hagg. I also dont think we are challenging for a cup next season.

Schultz is also broken down and can barely move. Not bringing a guy back does not mean his spot/role is vacated.

I expect both Morin and Hagg to make the team next season and have no problems at all. They'll both fit seamlessly as top-6 everyday players and neither one will have any major issues at all.

/end, move on.

Love Leftovers, but didnt get to see last nights episode. I was falling asleep at the wheel on the way home from the inlaws and wanted to be awake for it.

That's what a good Easter Sunday meal will do to ya..or tiresome convos with inlaws lol. It was good though, should be a crazy season.

I haven't seen Lefotovers, but I did kind of give up on Legion. Tired of not a damn thing ever being exaplained, sort of like how I got tired of Lost.

Do you think he can score the same amount of ES points as some of those guys who hit 40?

If he does hit 40, he's to have to play more ES minutes per game to get to 40 ES points in season, even if he scores at a higher clip.. He played at 14 of his 18 min per game at 5v5.

So is it possible, yes but I think he's topping out at mid-upper I would love to be proven wrong!

That website is practically my homepage

Yes I do think he can. Those are only 5v5 btw. I think he can hope he scores some 3v3 and 4v4 points. It is very clear from that list though, you either need to be really good and/or need to have a really good team.

Well thats exactly what Leftovers has perfect IMO. They give you a lot of nothing, but toss in something that makes you think it could mean something only to confuse you a bit more. Its on its third season so its not too hard to binge watch, but is a slower builder because of the confusion. I love it though..

Thats not what I was aiming for at all. I do think they will have bumps along the way. I do think there will be times where they are overwhelmed, but thats what happens with rookies. Anyway you shake it you are gonna have a young blue line.

Say you bring up Hagg and wait for Morin. Then next season you have Morin and Sanheim making the jump. Hell might have Myers ready then too.

I just believe that Hexy is starting the transition now.

Its a great website for raw data.

Couts only had 1 3v3 point and 0 4v4 points this year. Points leaders for 4v4 and 3v3 scoring was 5. I didn;t look at up one/down one.

Again, I am happy to aim for 40, but will not be upset with 34-38 ES points over 82 games.

The Pens well on their way to another tainted cup.

The ratio of bad/tainted cups to good cups is 1 to 4 I think. So Pens still have to win 4 more cups to equal the Flyers, who play the game the right way.

I guess the question is are you happy with his production this season? Because my point is over an 82 game season, he is already in your range. It means two things, he is either as good as those other guys on the list or his scoring totals have peaked. I think it is more the former

I did. Put my taint all over in when I went to the HHOF in November.

based on Hextall's comment that he expects the Flyers to be ranked in the single digit rank age wise as well as the kids will be here sooner rather than later, I fully expect Morin and Hagg to be on the team. I will be greatly disappointed if they are not.

what I HOPE happens is Weal signs and Weal, Stolarz, Lindblom, Vecchione, Laughton and Leier EARN and WIN spots on the team and they move on from some of the older guys like Read and CVV. not saying I expect all of them to make it, it would just make me happy if they legit played so well and won the jobs.

- nastyflyergirl

I'd love to see this happen, but I'd be very surprised if Laughton was on the team unless he's being carried as a spare and Leier (who will likely clear waivers) is probably going back to LHV. I really don't see Leier as an everyday NHL player. When you are as undersized as Leier, you really need to have top end skills or blazing speed to make it at the NHL level. I just don't see either in Leier. I think he tops out as a good AHL player who you can call up when needed in a fill in role.

I know, I am just saying that is what I wish would happen.
