I don't get why people want the Capitals to win. They're our rivals. We hate them. Truly, I think they're above the Penguins now in dislike.

Toronto isn't really going anywhere, but they're fun to watch unlike the Capitals who have as much talent as anyone but choose to play a mucking game. The thought of the Capitals failing again in the 1st round, after going all-in and maybe for the last time, is just so much (frank)ing fun to imagine. The schadenfreude makes my nipples hard.

It's so funny that you view the Caps as a rival, and dislike them that much. Don't get me wrong, I dislike them a lot, too but not as much as you do. I think one of the reasons I hate them a little less than you do is the fact they have done nothing in the post season with their current core, but I don't view them as a 'rival'. I know there was some bad blood in the 80ies, but I didn't experience it.

I think it has a lot to do with ages. I'm 29 (turn 30 next Tuesday), and when I was really starting to get into hockey, actually watching it and paying attention to more than just the average fan, I was around 18. At that point, Pens were on the upswing, and started their domination and won their first cup (with this core) in 2009. So, I've always held my hatred of the pens higher than any other team.

If you were to talk to my father-in-law, he would tell you his number 1 most hated team would be the rangers (and I also dislike them too).
