Leafs have zero chance. Lucky to win a game even.
Yet here we are with the leafs tied after 2 games, and caps only won game one off a couple fluky bounces to get to overtime and have led for 3 mins in almost 160mins of play
Cap are gonna dominate, they're gonna roll the leafs - burn
Maybe this is just the hangover talkkng, but I'm not looking forward to game 3.
Ploak leaves a huge hole.
Marchenko? Yikes. |

Less pressure on Washington in TO than at home.
Still, seed of doubt and all that. |

Right??? I (frank)ing hate that guy. That mocking he did after the Caps scored, that got flipped sideways and jammed up his ass. What a poopstain that guy is. I have a strong dislike for this individual. - Zezel
Agree, and initiate, instead of retaliate. Seems we took a couple of stupid retaliation penalties, one by Marancin the other by Kadri. So ride the piece of poop into the boards hard and then ask him how its going.

Line matchups will help the Leafs at home too. Then the seed of doubt can sprout into a beautiful flower of panic. |

So in other words, the Caps are a vastly superior first seed who are just dominating and toying with the Leafs.
I don't get why the Caps are stretching this out, they should just end it so they can rest for the next round. - Zezel
To be fair, Caps didnt exactly dominate the regular season against the Leafs either, and they're a better team both on the ice and on paper, but the Leafs have had more drive and have nothing to lose, they're not even supposed to be here.
Im waiting on Nylander and Matthews to start going, as they've been sniffing around the net a lot more in game 2 than in game 1. They just havent been able to bury anything yet.
I called a 4-1 series if the Leafs showed up mid way through. Will be interesting to see if we can squeeze out another win with all the injuries on the back end.

Bring up Andrew Nielsen and think of moving a responsible defensive forward like Komarov back there. Niether of these won't have any trouble giving Caps a wack if they run Andersen.

Nylander and Matthews were doing their thing in game 2. I'd bet a large pizza with dipping sauce that they get on the scoresheet in the game 3 for sure. |

Here's some chocolate for thought to knaw on: if my cursory, first-coffee analysis is correct, over 7 1/2 periods so far, the Capitals have held a lead for three minutes. - Zezel

Calling retaliatory penalties instead of the initial penalty is idiotic.
Letting Nylander get hooked and tripped, and then calling the Leafs on a trip was BS.
Not calling the slash on Matthews at the end of OT that took him out of play and left his ear bleeding is also (frank)ed.
Refs tried real hard for Washington. |

Agree with you on the Nylander trip and the Matthews attack was an obvious missed call, but this game was still called alot more even than the first. Leafs took 799 minutes in penalties this year, Washington 750 - so Caps are the more disciplined team. Hopefully Babcock with last change can convince the team and influence the game so we wack em first. Get them off their game and upset and running around trying to get back at guys like Hyman, Kadri and Komarov.

I think most people outside of trolls had the leafs winning 1-2 games in this series. I don't believe most hockey people had the caps sweeping the leafs.
It's one win out of two great games, the leafs have played great.
It's the playoffs, anything can happen. Leafs simply needed to plant the seed of doubt, which they have. But it's only one game.
Act like you've been there before.

The refs were missing calls on both sides in the first couple of periods...but it got ridiculously one sided late in the game.
It was embarrassing for the refs |

The thing that bothered me about the reffing last night was it was a particularly egregious example of a game where they are calling every little thing, and then later they 'put the whistles away'. You knew by halfway through the third the calls they were making in the first weren't going to be made. I'd like to see them call it somewhere in between those two extremes consistently. |

Agreed.
You can't be picky b@stards calling things that were barely penalties, to allowing everything.
It's complete bs. Be consistent |

Ready or not, he's rated the second best defensive prospect after Dermott who at 5'11'' is not a replacement for Polak against a team with size advantage - Nielsen is 6'3". Marchenko is an option, but he's been brutal in auditions to date. Why not give a real prospect a taste of playoff hockey?
