Its hilarious. As soon as he has a decent game, you guys love to wrap your lips around his stick. When he makes game losing mistakes, you just disappear or the few left over start making excuses about the angle of the stick vs the puck or some random other BS.

He helped tie the game for Washington today, with (lack of) help from Brown, so lets take it 1 game at a time.

I'll judge him on his actual performance. He played well both these games. He played like a goof in the last 3-4 games of the season, discounting the own goal on a bad bounce.

Gardiner doesnt play a quiet middling game. He either helps win it, or he literally loses it for the entire team. There's no in between.

I remember he had a streak leading up to the end of December of about 10 really good games where no sportscaster was shouting his name during the game and he was being praised for just going on about his business without drama. That sorta stopped in January.

jekyll and hyde, lets see who shows up next game.

I just ordered my Gardiner pyjamas.

Keep him were he is. If he's as fatigued as the rest of the forwards at the end of the game, they don't win. Scoring threats on every line is a good thing.

Yeah having a fast scorer with that line is cool. Boyle has been great too imo

Ya, you're right. Having another scoring threat on Matthews other wing is a bad idea.
Why use depth when we have it.

God forbid we stack the line up.

Kap, Matthews, Nylander
Martin, Boyle, Sosh

And FYI, Nylander and Kap are best buds and played alot together.

Having a scorer on every line is using depth.

Diminishing returns. You already have crazy firepower on the top line. Give them 4 lines to worry about. The 4th was dangerous all night. Either you overpower weak defenders, or they waste energy on that line and give the better ones more room.

What's the rule on callups in the playoffs?

And good road game. They deserved a win out of those two games and man does WSH ever look beatable. They just don't have the intensity and I really think if the Leafs can get game 3 then WSH would really be sweating.

They're sweating now.

They were supposed to crush us, but we've managed a split and took both games to OT. Home ice is ours and now Babs gets to match lines.

The Caps started the series with all of the pressure and now they have even more.

The 4th line has zero reason to be on the ice in OT. Please staple them to the bench.

Leivo, Boyle, Sosh on line 4 sounds perfect.

Anyone is beatable. Everything that has been said about this Series was said back in 1993 when the Leafs played the Mighty Red Wings in the 1st Round. It was supposed to be a 4 game sweep back then and pretty sure most experts didn't give the Leafs much of a chance this time.

The team played well in both games. All the pressure is on the Capitals.

We need some toughness on defence. I would love Josh Manson. So sick of guys running our goalie.

Great point, but that prik Oprik needs to be shown a close-up of the butt end of a stick. Piece of poop was suspended in the playoffs for less of a hit than the one on Polak. Then he goes after Marner. Time to ring his bell, or at least Marchand him.

He is a douche, that's for sure... but not sure he deserves a suspension. Polak was trying to get out of the way, thus the knee on knee. Marner is fine...
