This could be the series that starts the end of the "core" era. Kane just took a dumb penalty. Well, I wondered when the frustration was going to set in. Almost 9 full playoff games going back to last year's Blues series and Kane and Toews have contributed one goal between them to the cause.

Good on the fans for booing. They deserve the right to boo this team for that effort. It looks like they've just plain quit, so I don't blame the fans for returning the favor. I'm not sure what happened to this team, but something went wrong and it went wrong in a hurry.

I seriously hope I'm wrong and the Hawks pull off an epic comeback starting either tonight or Monday. I know we should never count out this group, but something seemed very wrong with the team going into the playoffs.

Maybe we should have seen this coming. The Hawks finished the regular season with a record of 3-7. Assuming they lose tonight which looks like a forgone conclusion that's three wins out of twelve games. Not exactly firing on all cylinders. Hopefully the Hawks get something going in the third.
