Corey Crawford: "It's obviously not good enough. They're coached pretty well. They're playing their game to a T. That's why they're up 2-0."
Crawford: "I haven't been able to give our guys the first two games when we needed it. They just sit back, play solid D and just wait."
1) interesting coaching comment
2) he apparently thinks it's HIS responsibility to win the games for the team?? - pdx2ord
ANY goalie would think it's his responsibility to win games for his team. |

Huh...maybe. The Blues had NO business beating that Hawks team, but such is life. |

So is it Darling for Game#3? I would. Crawford wasn't sharp tonight. Goal 4 and 5 should have been stopped. It didn't matter in the outcome of the game but your goalie has to be sharp and Crawford wasn't tonight. - EbonyRaptor
Absolutely not the whole team sucked, I figured Crawford just got battle fatigue and went into f it mode.

Who would have thought that Crawford would be the team's leading scorer during the post season?
Currently tied for 1st on the team with 0g and 0a. Impressive. - SimpleJack

For those old enough, in a way it feels like the Hawks vs Minnesota series from round one. Of cohrse the seed is the biggest similarity thought the Hawks had thenPresidents trophy. Their effort was better yet they were very undisciplined against an aggressive blue collar North Stars team and Jon Casey was on fire in net. |

Ok because I'm buzzed, I figured I'd post here what I just posted on Facebook:
So the Blackhawks got routed 5-0 by Nashville tonight. The last thing I'm going to do is bash my team, call them names, boo them, trash them, call them washed up, the era is over bla bla bla. And I won't blame the refs or rag Nashville at all, they have played brilliantly and my hat goes off to them. I am not upset oh no....I've been a Hawks fan my entire life and I LOVE my late 80s-90s Hawks..a rough n' tumble bunch who went to one Cup, 2 Western Finals and a Presidents Trophy. But...they never won it all. Good as that team was (and they were DAMN GOOD) they just couldn't lift the Cup. That's a hard ass trophy to win....and In the HISTORY of the Blackhawks no period has been as good as THIS ONE and there is NOT ONE SINGLE team or group of fans who would NOT trade their team's success for the Hawks. The ONLY team in the post-lockout era to have more than 2 Stanley Cups. I am NOT gonna bash "overpaid" players on the Hawks and I sure as hell won't get on my boys like Brent Seabrook for maybe not being the best anymore. Because at one time you were the best and thank you to all the Hawks players who made being a Hawks fan fun again. From "did he score" Kane....to 17 seconds....to Duncan Keith is bionic...its been a hell of a ride. Yes, other, younger teams are on the rise, a rebuild of some type is soon coming, but I'll be damned if I become a horses ass about my team because the clock has now struck midnight. WON'T DO IT. Love my boy Seabs, Duncs, Kaner, Tazer, Hammer, HOSS and all the rest....
That all said, LETS WIN game 3 boys!!! Monday Night. Canucks had em down 3-0 in 2011, it went 7, Wings had the Hawks down 3-1 in 2013, Hawks won, Kings had em down 3-1 in 2014, it went 7...Predators TWICE had em down 2-1 and the Hawks won. If the Hawks win Monday Night...the series is 2-1. I believe baby! Go Hawks!!! - kwolf68
Well said! Happy Easter!

The Hawks lost that series in 5 if I remember correctly Golf...91 playoffs Hawks were supposed to go all the way and they were out in the first round. Lost to Pitt in the Cup Finals the next season.
The big stars outside of Hossa are just phoning it in. And its time to get a guy in here who can actually take that talent and make the PP work. Hawks continue to get destroyed at the dot...(Boyle would have been a really nice add).
At the same time take nothing away from the Preds - I like Lavy he's a good coach and they have a ton of talent. As soon as they got the early lead they went into Devils mode and got their guys back.
The question is is will the Hawks make any kind of push back here and make this a series. If not then the bigger questions regarding the core moving forward will be on the docket. However you've just given Panarin a truck of cash - and you have Seabrook's new deal which is another boat anchor type contract. |

if any group can get out of this hole, it's them.
score early, make Nashville open it up, and see what happens. lot of depth and heart on this team still. this team figures it out as series get longer. let's see what they are made of now. always seems they play their best when their backs are completely to the walls. |

Your second paragraph is totally on the GM and some of his bull crap decisions, yes , was hoping for Boyle, and go back to 3years ago, " we're not giving up a young talent like TT for Kesler"! WTF , where is TT now? And it goes on and on, with the Sharp, Ladd, Saad trades ect! I know I'm beatin the drum here, but Q isn't the problem , it's higher then that.
A guy like Kesler or Backus is EXACTLY what this team could use in the mix, especially in a series like this. Many have said it, playoff hockey is different than the regular season, a bunch of pretty little ballerinas isn't gonna get it done, ya need a couple of hard working " cement finishers" per say to get down and dirty for your team.
Teams have figured out how to beat the Hawks, I don't know, maybe Bowman has that make up of " I don't get emotionally attached to players" and maybe hell re tool some of the core this summer if they fail and move a couple of big name contracts, good luck with that since ya gave half the team no trade clauses.

The way the Hawks played over the last 10 games are we really surprise by this.I think that the pp and Pk has hurt this team all year and come playoffs that where it shows the most.Again who's on the first line bs.Can Q get his act together, show a little confidence to your players especially your rookies.Has mixing the lines done any good what so ever.Leave them alone and see what happens,it can' get any worse. |

I don't really know what a 'cement finisher' is, but Austin Watson and Harry Z seem to fit that description. Those 2 big guys are hitting everything they can - the Hawks have nobody to counter it or anybody other than Panik they can use to pound those 4 very good Nashville defenceman. |

They lost in six to Minny in 91. This team has totally mailed it in and is stunned at how much they are getting pushed around. They have the ability to push back but for whatever reason haven't. They should be embarrassed. |
