lol. Only one game for Calvert. Could be worse though Pens fans, if he did that against a team like the Blues it would just be ignored completely, the way Zucker's carbon copy of the spear that got Marchand suspended was ignored last night/today. Pittsburgh is just visible enough to get a total farce of "justice" instead of none at all. |

At the time of the "non hockey play", you know i thought 1 game suspension and maybe a fine or something. Bullpoop like this shouldn't happen, but hey it's the NHL and they don't know what they even want to represent half the time.
Rewatching the play today and hearing only 1 game, what kind of message does that send to the players other than do whatever poop you want in the playoffs and at most you'll get 1 game because it's too important to have the best product they can on the ice right now.
Probably being a little dramatic because dirty poop like this happens more often than not, but if i'm a Union rep or League official and I see something like that happen with all the fear over concussions and future medical lawsuits, how the hell do i sit on my hands and say yeah 1 game suspension teaches that player his lesson. Won't happen again.
Honestly if we wreck them again game 3, game 4 needs to have Sestito in lineup for his one purpose. That is what the league gets for not controlling dirty plays, more dirty poop to come for reconciliation. I'm not one to get rid of fighting, I don't necessary see the need for it, but I understand it and the two players involved are willing. poop like this needs to be handled better for the players sake |

I still say Pens in 6. CBJ is not going lightly. Only way it ends if 4 is if Torts doesn't change the strategy. |

Poor bastards - not that this series is over by a long way, it's just they have a good team (frank)ed up by idiotic tactics & attitude!
Let's hope it continues! |

The more physical and mental exhaustion the Leafs can give the Caps, the happier I am. |

Crazy that Caps-Leafs series could just as easily be 0-2 Leafs right now. Two things there:
1) The Leafs are good, and people need to give them credit. They're going to be a powerhouse within two years and might be better set up than the Oilers as far as young talent goes.
2) Even though the Leafs are good, the hell, Washington? The Caps, yet again, are just not looking impressive. I don't get it. They do have the best team in the NHL but something just breaks down this time of year. I still fully expect them to win the series, but something's gotta change if they want to go all the way this year. |

They have trouble scoring to respond against Totonto. Toronto's defense and goaltending is better than I thought it would be. I also do not think Caps D is as good as everyone says they are. They lack speed and youth. This time of year you really need young legs for speed and endurance.
On a sererate note, a one game suspension for a deliberate attempt to injure in a nonhockey play does little to deter violence in the sport. The NHL continues to destroy it self and it's players. W.T.F. is wrong with this league?????? |

it is not them breaking. they are playing the same way they are during regular season and all the other teams up their play. all other teams are in playoff mode while the caps allways stay in regular season mode cuz they think they are unbeatable and that will be enough. newsflash! it ain't! |

Well, I always thought speed was the one way you could beat the Caps... their offensive, size, goalie, and defensive pairings are damn strong, but speed isn't special. Leafs are taking advantage of that and matching up best they can with other aspects. |

Not sure the Caps see Toronto as a threat. Did they have difficulty eliminating their round 1 last year (too lazy to look it up)?
Seems like Toronto is desperate & Trotz has his players cruising. Let's hope it stays that way & it sees Bazza out early again.
Can no neck even have a tie on? If he can, I wonder how tight it's starting to feel? Goon time. Matt Martin may find some extra work game 3! |

Andersen is really playing great. I think the Caps still win the series, but I'm impressed with TO's kids. Kappy looking like a good young player. Good for him. |
