Don't feed. This is the same donut who believes Crosby elbowed Boychuk in the head. He has an agenda and he'll spend his time trying to fit every little thing to that narrative

Yes that's true just like you believe detaching part of someone's finger and knocking out some teeth are "just hockey plays" when it's your guys but Calvert should be suspended for a simple cross check to one of your guys just a bunch of hypocrites

This is all good, coupled with that joke of a promotion their local paper is running. The CBJ players have to be embarrassed.

(1) You just accepted you believe some thing even though video evidence shows otherwise and yet you to continue to believe something that is false because you have a hard on for the penguins

(2) The Calvert play was not a simple hockey play, hence why even the CLB blogger and league-wide analysts are anticipating a fine at the very least and a likely suspension.

So who is delusional one here?
(did the other rags fan not welcome you to their thread, hence you spend your time here?)

What a bunch of clowns. Fire Torts and move all his favorite players to EDM as "McDavid Protection", CBJ will be a contender next year.

Does it really matter who he did it to? If you can't see why a play like that has no business in the game than your stupidity has hit the point of no return.... Go Habs!

They pulled the stupid Crosby crying masks promotion once they realized the fans will not need a mask, or fake tears....They will be crying aplenty when they get swept

If the script continues Columbus may have more luck hitting golf balls then they have hitting Penguins players. Matt Calvert may only get a fine? Okay what is that going to do? Maybe he should get a slash on the wrist instead of a slap. As I've said before I'm a comedian, but the funniest thing in hockey is the Department of Player Safety!

I feel bad for Blue Jacket fans. Still remember our playoff series against them a few years back. The energy and passion the fans brought was great and I thought they were a rising franchise. They look to be on the rise again, but this relatively new fanbase is getting least common denominator bull poop. Tortarella doing Tortarella things, Jarmo surrounding his legit young star talent with goons, this Crysby thing that's even more tired than Torts. C-Bus could be a great hockey town, and its time the Blue Jackets franchise does right by its fans and starts taking the whole hockey thing more seriously.

I still can't believe how quickly Jake has developed. He looks like a legit 1st line winger. With Sprong waiting in the wings, this team is gonna be fun the next few years.

It's gonna be very exciting. I think Sprong is gonna be a top goal-scorer for the Pens.

Some things I've notieced...

A smallish Pens team turning a "heavy" team into a perimeter lightweight is incredibly ironic. The series is far from over, but if it continues on it's current course we might be watching one of the worst playoff coaching jobs in recent memory. Dan Bylsma in 2013 would approve.

The Jackets spend a sh*tload of effort trying to separate our D from the puck but rarely seem to turn it into any serious chances. It's great to create turnovers like that, but they don't know what to do with the puck once they have it.

I knew the deficit in talent at center would be a key to this series and it's proving even greater than I thought.

Jones and Werensky are great, great young players. I'm jealous.

As Mario put it, "The NHL is a garbage league." It is baffling they consider whether or not a player got injured when determining player punishment. A retroactive approach like that is an idiotic way to protect your brand, just ask Todd Bertuzzi. The league was a nationwide embarrassment after that incident with Steve Moore. I don't think anyone in their right mind can say that there wasn't equal potential for serious injury to Khunackl as their was for Moore when Bertuzzi hit him. Player delivers an unexpected, blind-side blow to the neck/head region of a player with a fist/stick. Calvert's follow up hit was probably worse than Bertuzzi's piling on of Moore. To hear the back and forth chatter of fans is ridiculous too. Set the rules, call the game by the rules, and there won't be endless arguing of opinion afterward. Here's how I see it.

Sid slash on Methot: should have been a slashing minor (or major possibly) just as all the slashing in the NHL should be.

Sid slash/spear on O'Reilly: chicken poop move that should have been a penalty. Case and point here, this was far worse than the Methot slash but people talk more about Methot why? He got injured.

All the cross checking below the goal line and along the boards: call them.

All hits from behind (not just when someone goes awkwardly into the boards): call them.

Calvert on Khunackl: If an actual hockey play like a check that involves charging or head contact i.e. Orpik on Matta last year, Letang on Johannson last year, open ice collisions, leaving your feet, etc. can draw a 1,2,3 game suspension, how is a deliberate act like Calvert's not worthy of stricter punishment. I'll obviously concede that if I had to pick which act was more barbaric (Calvert or Bertuzzi) I would pick Bertuzzi, but the potential for serious injury was at least relatively similar. That's what the punishment should be based on. The only big difference is that Khunackl didn't lose consciousness and his vertebrae didn't break.

Set the rules and call the game per the rules, not per the situation, circumstances, or outcome of a given incident.

It's not like they're bereft of a players with real offensive ability either; they just have a misguided coach. They have enough forwards who can create offensive and score along with dmen who can effectively move the puck.

Maybe this is the safe guess, but I expect the Jackets to win game 3. Like you said, it's far from over, so my only hope is that the Pens don't take a loss too hard and bounce back well.

I've been a huge hater of Torteralla starting with him (and Sully) in Vancouver and especially what he did with the World Cup team. I think he's done a nice job in Columbus and I don't think he's doing anything terribly wrong in this series. To me the difference so far in the series is the BJ's slipped into a scoring drought in the last month of the season that they haven't come out of yet (happens to most/all teams at some points) and Bob's post season play has been nothing like his regular season play. Perhaps the quality of shots and the amount of traffic in front of MAF is partly on the coaches, but to me that's more of a player execution thing (that typically is lacking in a goal scoring drought). Columbus is certainly not done. They have the players as you mentioned, they've just lost some mojo. Hopefully the pens don't let them regain it.

I expect the first period to be just like the first period's of Games 1 &2. If the Pens can do what they've done and just weather the storm and walk out of the first with giving up more than one goal, I think they can take that game.
