Mine has nothing to do with their fans, well ok some of them, it has everything to do with the media shoving them down my throat decade after decade.

Hansen isn't good enough to justify that trade. He guys that passed Goblin on the depth chart aren't better they are just more ready. I get the Shattenkirk trade but not the Burrows or Hansen trades. Stupidity on both.
- CanuckDon

I thought the burrows trade was worse, from the other teams perspective.

For our perspective i liked them both I was much higher on Dahlen than goldy myself. Very intrigued by both. We are starting to get so many soft small skilled guys though(granlund, sven, dahlen, goldy)..

Would really like to add some more size to group if possible in this draft.

And James Tanner is the worst scriber of all of them!

That Franker writes for the Caps and cheers for the Leafs, he's a disgrace to Hockeybuzz and Leafs fans

Not with top 10 picks but yes similar type players in later rounds would be ideal.

We are embarrassingly small but at least we have added some skill. You are right, rounds 2-7 we should be looking to add some size

In the 2nd or with the SJ 1st after the win the cup then yes absolutely.. Does he play big though? Hopefully not another grenier if we take him..

Was thinking comtois in the 2nd too.. Plays a hard game but not crazy big or physical.

Popugav (spelling) perhaps? He could fall to the 2nd. Not physical but he could develop that side of his game more.

I don't like Patrick but I'd still be thrilled to add a prospect of his caliber.

I think thats what cost us against the bruins.. You can only have so many small guys who dont push back. Look at the oil with lucic, kassian and marroon made a huge difference.

Im all for best player on the board but at times you have to look to best player on the board that fills a team need if the difference isnt to big.

When the twins leave hopefully it wont be so noticeable.

Defence has lots of size and toughness. Did miss Dorsett quite a bit. Need a player in the top 6 that plays with size.

Cale Makar scouting report:

I know your all wondering so let's get straight to it and talk about his defense...He didn't make a single mistake last night! He is so smart and can see the ice so well that he never put himself in a bad position. His mobility and poise with or without the puck is off the charts. What blew me away was I don't think he looked down once at the puck all night except in the corners...He looks like your typical NHL player, head up and making plays. His no look passes were tape to tape and extremely impressive, he also has some bite to his game...He didn't back down from anybody and you could see that the Wolverines were trying to shut him down and put major pressure on him but it completely backfired! He took the hit, collected the puck and either made great past or skated it out. He can play defense and he's pretty good at it. Now onto his size...I purposely wore my flip flops and got up close...I'm 6'2 and 210 lbs so he has to be between 5'11" and 6 feet tall. The older gentlemen I talked to the other day slightly exaggerated...He doesn't look "thick" but he has BIG bone structure and I'd put him around the 185lbs being reported...I'd definitely say he's had a growth spurt in the last year and looks bigger, faster and stronger than the last time I saw him play. He should have no trouble playing in the NHL at 6' 200lbs.

Heard hes a floater but with crazy skill. Hes more of small skill guy trapped in a giant body. Has huge upside. If we get him in the second Id be happy even though he isnt a power type.

From what ive read the draft isnt as bad as people say. MOst guys will take a while to make it is all and there is no home run first overall.

There is lots of guys in the early 2nd I like. Even Hague seems to be dropping like a stone and could be there due to his skating. To me he is another guy worth the gamble.

Cheers

His defense was what worried me so this was a great read.
