You could make an argument Malkin is generational. He's in Crosby's league.

And hmmm well........did those guys break records in their first years ? Thornton and Stmakos didn't even break 50 points.

He scored 40 (frank)ing goals as a rookie. That poop is generational. Wether you like it or not

Matthews has simply done things I'm his first season that never has happened. Or at the very least hasn't happen in generations. It's facts man. Use them

The only thing that got me excited was Kylo's scarred face. But it's Star Wars I know I'll love it

I LOVE the prequel trilogy as well as the original. Love a lot of the videogames and EU.

Hate that Gisney owns it now and thought TFA was trash. It's Star Wars, so it was still better than most stuff out there but it was Bantha fodder. IT should have been so much better but it just made no sense. At all.

The Last Jedi looks like it can be much, much better. J.J. Abrams is a terrible film maker.

I think Matthews would spaz if he had Zach Bogosian and Josh Gorges throwing him bad passes up the ice
- sbroads24

I guarantee that's why Eichel is the best puck carrier in the league. He doesn't trust the D to get him the puck so he just does it himself.

Let's use this as a reference for people throwing out generational , Elite etc

HF

Generational Talent
– a player for the ages, one who can do things with a puck that no other player would even contemplate doing. Very, very few players will be deserving of this rating, probably one per decade.

Defense: Bobby Orr
Forward: Wayne Gretzky
Goaltender: Patrick Roy

9. Elite Talent – possesses the potential for greatness, a perennial All-Star throughout his career.

Defense: Drew Doughty, Duncan Keith, P.K. Subban
Forward: Jamie Benn, Evgeni Malkin, Patrick Kane
Goaltender: Carey Price, Jonathan Quick, Henrik Lundqvist

8. First-Line Forward/ No. 2 Defenseman / No. 1 Goaltender
– players with definite skill that might be just a cut below elite status, but still possessing All-Star potential.

Defense: Brent Seabrook, John Carlson, Roman Josi
Forward: Daniel Sedin, Ryan O’Reilly, Bobby Ryan
Goaltender: Corey Crawford, Marc-Andre Fleury, Cory Schneider

7. Second-Line Forward/ No. 3-4 Defenseman / Journeyman No. 1
Goaltender – players not quite good enough to play on the top line or pairing on a regular basis, but still possessing enough talent to contribute offensively, defend with some authority, or competently play the goaltender’s position for long stretches.

Defense: Kevin Shattenkirk, Alec Martinez, Jeff Petry
Forward: Tomas Tatar, Ryan Kesler, James Neal
Goaltender: Devan Dubnyk, Jaroslav Halak, Mike Smith

6. Third-Line Forward/ No. 5-6 Defenseman / Backup Goaltender – generally speaking, players whose game is defensively-oriented, or whose abilities aren’t quite good enough to land full-time duty on the second line, top two defensive pairings, or the No. 1 goaltending position

Current Generational players are Crosby, from the last gen and McDavid from the current gen.

Before them, it was Gretzky, Lemieux. Jagr. Lindstrom. Hasek. And. Uh. Brodeur?

Off the top of my head.

Below them: Malkin, Yzerman, Stamkos, Tavares, Weber, Subban, Thornton, Ovechkin, etc...

Generational is basically 1 per decade per position. That's why they're

I liked The Force Awakens. I grew up watching the prequels so I'm more biased towards them. Rogue One was good but the 45 seconds of Vader at the end really made it all worth it.

Leadership happens on the ice and in the room. Definitely not in front of bunch of reporters. Eichel slowed down in the stretch drive. Who's fault was that?

Matthews didn't score in 13 straight games, who's fault is that? This is asinine.

Every player is going to go through rough streaks. The great ones figure out how to not do them when their team needs them the most. Bottom line is, every time the Leafs needed Matthews to be big, he was. Eichel hasn't had that opportunity yet.

For the love of god this has to be sarcasm?

Let me guess, Eichel would have had 100 points in 60 games away from Bylsma?

Matthews also only had 29 assists. Risto had 39 assists – does that make Risto Ultra-Generational? Patrik Laine had 36 goals and 28 assists in 73 games, both higher per game rates than Matthews. Can I therefore conclude that Laine is more Generational than Matthews? Bring it down a notch, buddy.

I was speaking in general. TM passed on so many cheap low-risk/high-reward guys.

But you're crazy. Grabner scored 27 goals this year at 1.6 mil and has two goals in two games in the playoffs so far and one of them was a beautiful goal. There's no team that doesn't need that kind of good value signing.

why the (frank) does position matter?

There can only be one per position ? Seriously ?

What is this? Some magical hockey god that picks one baby to be the generational D then F then G?
