we have depth...you just want to complain... who on your "list"is better then ROR, or Kane ? I want Names

It must be nice to go back and say you should have picked this guy or that guy 3 years later.... Problem is you can do that with EVERY GM and every ORG.

People can defend Murray all they want all those flops in 2014 for that draft is killing us
And if he had the draft picks in 2015 we would have defense ready to step up for next year

Drafting is very important

Here are the only questions i care about for Tim Murray:

1. What is your plan to fix defense

2. What is your plan at expansion draft

3. What is your plan with Kane

4. What is your plan on College/Euro free agents

5. What is your plan with players already drafted that are currently in Europe (Asplund, Possler, Oloffson)

Edit; 6. What is your plan with players already drafted that are currently in College (Peterson, Fitzgerald, Brown, Willman, Hurley)

- MCGUIZZY

what murray should say:

1. no more half measures. its unlikely we can fix it in ufa, even less likely (immediately) from this draft. its going to cost, something we dont wanna give up, but it should pay dividends in the win column immediately.

2. im hoping mcphee takes one of our bad contracts or im going to look very bad for having brought up this stupid favor idea.

3. extension, im thinking 4 years 6 per.

4. well, theres antipin.

5. asplund is in our plans.

6. peterson is of concern. this stupid cba makes drafting college players look like a bad idea. if they are very good, they can walk and become ufas without playing a game. if they suck, you can probably sign them and develop them over several years to possibly be role players. best i can offer him at this point is starting job in the ahl.

The expansion topic to me is the most interesting.

i dont see us losing anything of consequence. it is a wonderful opportunity to rid ourselves of a bad contract, i dont wanna miss out on the opportunity. not many teams are willing to take a bad contract without giving you back an equally bad contract. if mcphee decides that he would rather take ullmark/carrier/larsson/girgensons, whatever, its just a missed chance to unload somebody not pulling their weight and get some cap space.

These are better questions than our media idiots will ask. I would also ask his plans for Jack and Samson for their next contracts and certainly his plan with d*ckhead Dan.

right now you have

depth at goalies

a legit number 1 and number 2 center
2 top 4 wingers (assuming okposo can play next year and kane)
a top pair d man (risto)

a big question mark in reinhart for where he ends up

a 4th d man in mccabe

probably a cheap vet for the bottom pair in gionta

young players to round out the roster in e-rod, carrier
prospects
nylander, bailey, baptiste, pu, asplund, fasching up front
guhle, borgen stephens in the back end

it's not doom and gloom

but you have to move bogo, gorges, moulson, ennis and figure out what to do with girgens, larsson and foligno

Not really worried about losing anyone of significance. I think its a major opportunity tho to either pick up a defensemen (trade) or rid ourselves of a contract. or both. I think if we don't do at least one of those, i will consider it a major opportunity missed by Murray

I swear to christ i'll explode if I hear something along the lines of "we want to see what he can do with a healthy roster." Injuries happen. And he HAD a relatively healthy roster coming out of the all-star break...and look what they managed.

It goes without saying that Murray effed up this season and we weren't good enough. I dont need him spending the whole presser explaining that. I want to hear what the plan is to fix it.

Yup.

The only thing is if Disco stays then when the team struggles out of the gate and he gets canned Lindy will be back behind the bench...

Lindy to Florida makes sense to me

if he locks up the russian d man

can grab another euro d man or butcher as well

the d might night be bad with a signing of shat or alzner

plus with the russian and other free agent being cheap, there is more than enough money to sign shat or alzner

and if they got alzner, mccabe can be moved in a trade

alzner-risto
russian-free agent
guhle-bogo

Is it really unheard of for players/teams to have bad/off years?

I understand that this season was a gong show for us as fans, however we cant panic and act like the team is full of Derek grants, its not. I look at a team like the Blue Jackets, they had a brutal season last year, but really did not make any major moves besides the Jones trade (cant remember when they hired torts), now they are in a playoff positions looking like a very good team. If I said at the beginning of the year that Columbus would finish higher than Tampa this year, not one person would have bought that.

There have been a couple players that didn't exactly leap off the page this year when watching them, that's absolutely true, but its not like guys like Rienhart finished the year with 20 some points. Was his lack of progression disappointing? Yes. Does it mean hes a garbage player that no team should ever have picked? Again I don't think so.

I believe that this team is much better than they showed this year, guys like Eichel ROR Kane Okposo Rhino Risto McCabe even Ennis and Lehner, these are not AHL scrubs playing way above their level, these are highly skilled players who should have been better than they were this year (maybe less for Ennis and Lehner in the high skilled area), but the fact is the coach I think failed to do the best with what he had.

If I want a nice steak dinner, but all I have is ground beef, no matter what I do that ground beef will not turn into a nice rib eye steak. If Murray didn't give bylsma the right players to play the way he wanted, the coach needs to adjust to what he has. When Eichel was out he played a much more defensive system, I have no idea why he couldn't change to a more high tempo style when he came back.

Murray gave him the wrong key to the house but bylsma is the one still trying to jam that square key into a round hole.

What's going on with Antipin? There was a lot of talk of him signing with Buffalo then not much else since.
