I was backing him for 2 years, when very few were. Do you think there's any way in hell we'll have a "complete team" next year? What constitutes a "complete team"?

Something that resembles a third and fourth line plus a blue line ?

Have you seen The French Connection play?
- GERBE!!!75PTS

My parents were barely old enough to see them play.

But my dad did tell me about how in the 80s he'd buy tickets for $8 then sneak down to the lower seats.

And that the players would smoke cigarettes in the tunnel

I think what's much more likely is the players pretty much all said they didn't like Bylsma's system. Some of which Murray openly agrees with and stated in his presser, others he thinks are players who probably won't be here's lame excuses. I think he will relay this info to Pegula and if Pegula doesn't like what he hears he will probably point blank ask Murray if he believes they should fire Bylsma. I think Murray likes aspects of Bylsma's coaching style but really can't stand others. If he believes Bylsma will change will likely come down to him staying or not.
- bluengold12

Again ..... if Murray is in charge of keeping Bylsma (which he is)......... he is staying. I don't think that could be any more clear. He would have fired him already if that wasn't the case. In addition ......... Murray didn't find out anything really new during the exit interviews with the players. He mentioned he spent a ton of time with the team this year .... to the point of probably neglecting his scouting routine. He's had a pretty good pulse of this team for quite some time.

A thing of beauty on one of my favorite players growing up.

What tradition does this franchise really have? 0 championships. Only 2 finals appearances in 40 plus years. Hell, some of the best seasons in franchise history came in the black and red uniforms. I understand if people like the Blue and Gold better than the Black and Red (I liked the latter, but never was too upset they went back to the blue and gold), but the tradition argument never held water for me.

Also, they will go back to Royal eventually. I like Navy better, but there's too much money to be made in changing uniforms not to do it. It's why teams like the Oilers went to a dark blue, back to the original blue, and now they are doing away with the blue and going orange full time next year.

You can insert "history" in the place of "tradition" if it fits better

With an improved roster yes. We've proven we can compete with teams in the east like Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal. Just need to improve the (frank) out of our pathetic defense and offensive vet core.

Pittsburgh's was actually pretty cool. I like that logo better than the cartoonish one they have now.

Boston's I didn't hate, but didn't love it either.

I have absolutely no idea what Vancouver was trying to do there.

LA and Anaheim were just comical.

I thought the Rangers also had one that year, which I liked, but maybe it was later:

Yeah but we both know that teams step it up in the playoffs to a whole new level
What happens if the Sabres were already playing at that level? ( And that's not a very good level )

The Sabres would step it up, too. However, bluengold is right, except defense is a much, much higher priority than the 3rd or 4th lines. A competent defense can make everyone look better. The forwards were handicapped tremendously by that.

It's because Pegula clearly holds the reins on coaches, he hired both Ryan and Bylsma and fired Ryan himself. Trust me Murray doesn't move one way or the other without Pegula's blessing. It's his team.

He didn't ask this but okay.

The answer was no, btw. Not "with an improved roster yes".

Pens are probably the best, they're the least whacky. I hate anything Bruins. 2nd would be the Canucks one. The rest are awful. Although "The Burger King" one is a special kind of awful.
