Okay Genius. Why don't you strap on your GM cap and give me a better line up.

Don't act like a smart ass when you talk with me, that's part of your problem. Nylander isn't even close to being a 1st line guy and Sharp is done.

Honestlyy how is that line up draft lottery worthy? We'd have an incredible and deep defense and Murray all but assured Nylander would be here next year. Sharp is a MUCH better upgrade as a 3rd line LW than stonehands Foligno. Could probably have a better top line LW to start the season with Eichel but I had to be realistic.

Plus we kiss the losers Badgosian, Gorges, Ennis, Moulson and Deslauries goodbye.

and a fiery, competitive 2nd/3rd line power forward to give the team a combo of scoring touch and grit.

Nylander will likely get sheltered offensive minutes with Eichel and switch in and out with Kane.

Sharps analytics numbers are very solid and he has that thing called stanley cup experience. Offensively he's a 2nd/3rd line guy in terms of shots generated and a mid to bottom six guy in terms of shots given up. That's just fine for a 3rd liner with vet experience.

Foligno is a fiery powerforward. The scoring touch bit was for Zemgus . Foligno does have stonehands but on other teams with not as many issues as ours he can slot in nicely as the role he should have - a guy to protect better skilled players and occasionally chip in a small few game point streak.

Could've worded it better then, looked like you talked about Girgensons and then moved onto Foligno.

I meant the combo of a skilled centerman in need of a change of scenery and a fiery powerforwd would be enough to get a guy like Pesce from a very deep defensive team in desperate need of younger forwards.

What are odds Jack's old BU coach gets hired next week to replace DD?

I don't see how 12's lineup is that bad or at least how it can be judged to be awful.

Antipin isn't signed, but could be a very good defender. The sources I read say he's comparable to Zaitsev...one of the Leafs best defenders this year. He could just be a 6th-7th defender as well, but that's certainly not what I'm reading.

If Nylander makes the big club, he won't be playing 4th line with D-Lo and E-rod...

E-rod should be 4C, I can see that and I'm not sure how much Sharp has left in the tank...but Brodin, Antipin and Pesce would probably make us a playoff team even with the group of forwards we currently have.

If Bylsma was fired already then that percentage goes up a bunch, but it's still probably a 50/50 that he is fired if not leaning more towards him coming back. It's scary I know.

No one. The GM doesn't pick the captains.

If Bylsma is still here. I didn't get even close to "he's safe to go to next year" out of that presser. That was all cover your ass by Murray in case Pegula tells him to fire him, or Murray seeks permission to fire him. Anyway if he's still here, I think it goes to ROR.

A new coach, totally depends, but I'd think they'd want a fresh start and go with Eichel.

If Pegula is going to devote 90% of his attention to the Bills, and that's his prerogative, then they need a step above Murray. He needs someone to a) bounce ideas off of, b) give some guidance and c) someone to answer to in a timely manner. Otherwise, if Pegula is going to spend more time on the Sabres, a VP of operations is kind of redundant.

How anyone could surmise that Bylsma is still iffy to return next year is ridiculous. He's the coach next year period .............. for how long is up to how the team performs but Pegula is NOT going to meet with Murray next week and tell him to fire Bylsma. That's nuts ...........

If he comes back I don't think he gets more than 10 games. .500 or below and it's see ya later, bye.

I agree, but the thing is, the time to make those moves is the offseason. It's so much more difficult finding replacements and finding the RIGHT replacements mid season.

I fear it'll just be another lost season if we stumble out of the gate a throw some replacement in there

My opinion is if he were going to be fired, it would have happened on Monday.

Unless a coach comes up that they can't pass up, I think this is still Bylsma's show next year

Any lineup that jettisons Boges and Moulson is going to be a better team no matter who replaces them. Ennis and Gorges .............. yeah probably.

I like your thinking Blue ..........

Murray said it pretty plain and clear .............. he's the coach going forward. The only door he left open was if during his meeting with Terry ........... that he was directed to fire Bylsma. I DO NOT see that happening. Do you ?

That's not likely either .................... look just give the dude a complete team before you put a stake in his heart. He deserves that at least.

Not a Bills fan .................. Raiders all the way. But I do know the Bills situation.... (the NFL in general) is a differnt animal from the NHL.

It's way more apparent in the NFL when the coaching staff is the problem. In the NHL ... not so much.
