Who the fack in their right mind would come here and not be able to pick your own GM and Coach? Anyone with experience wouldn't. - Vukota
My opinion is that someone would come here under the understanding taht they are going to go with ABC, and if that doesnt work, its his to fire anyone he wants.

That series was pretty even, I think that's a little bit of an exaggeration. The Panthers aren't some garbage-heap team either. - eichiefs9
I give the edge in overall play to the Panthers. I did not watch any Panthers games outside of the Isles games, but Gallant seemed like a solid coach to me. Players seem to respond to him. Still would not be among my top choices.
Koiptar and Toews aren't worth 10 million a year and they have 5 cups combined. - Dan Petriw
This is such a ridiculous convo because anything in lifes value is what someones willing to pay. I dont think a 4k diamond, which essentially is glass, should be worth 100k, but people pay for it.
24-12-4, Final 6 wins without your best player, great communication with players who obviously responded, the only mistake with Weight was not giving him the reins earlier. Snow may stay, but Weight can do the job, who were we getting, Ruff? Hitchcock? A full season with Weight who now will have more of a voice on personal decisions, this team simply did not deserve the playoffs, not when you bury yourself that early, so I look forward to next year, get JT signed, get the hell out of that junkyard of an arena, and Lets Go Islanders! - Sec111

They were the easiest team to beat in the playoffs that season hence why the islanders and Capuano did everything in their power to make sure they played them

Let us also not forget the two challenges, that are within the rules but I cringed each time. Im sure people will have mixed feelings, but I'd rather win by scoring more goals, not because some guy upstairs see's a toe offsides.

The players responded to Weight, because they respect him. He's a former winner. But, they should absolutely be looking into special teams coaches. I always said, if Capuano who's never really done anything at the NHL level was telling me what to do, i'd laugh at him. Its like having a trainer at the gym being a fat slob and telling you how to get in shape.
