There is no doubt that Ledecky and Malkin have been talking to JT or at least Brisson for weeks and I'm sure that if JT wanted to have Doug Weight remain as coach, that was relayed to the ownership before this announcement was made. Its critical that they create an environment (or at least maintain one) that JT wants to return to long-term. Given what Weight accomplished once he was promoted, I really don't see the down side to naming him coach, especially if JT voiced to ownership that he would like for that to happen.

Doug as coach means Snow remains as GM. Every single is lander fan should have a problem with it. Forget about the fact Weight made some very Capuanoish moves during his shorty NHL coach stint and has no resume. This is just more rolling the dice on a season ridiculousness from a horrible GM who seems to have somehow mind bogglingly kept his job again. This is (frank)ing horrible news.
