Nico is better ...

I will leave the door open

- GERBE!!!75PTS

Not really, his stats this year are very under whelming, for a top 2 pick in his draft year he really dropped the ball with the way he played after the WJC. His shot generation and primary points were very meh. Closest qmjhl equivalent is ehlers (who had stronger numbers than nico). Hes still the number 2 pick but jeebus there isn't a lot of hype behind the numbers when it comes to him right now.

That flyer (frank) tard has no idea who butcher even is, what he projects as, or that's it's from the Denver post who cherry pick everything from the u of D about the avs bc the writer chambers loves that Avs hate the NCAA story line

So the kid is doing his homework before he decides to sign or not. He also said he was going to talk to his family about it to. I fully respect that. I'm hopefully he signs with us. Don't read to much into what chambers says. He's being bashing the avs for years about not drafting ncaa players, not signing du players. At the end of the day avs own butchers rights. If he waits till Aug 15 to sign with a team, he's missed out on a full offseason of team directed workouts, 92500 bucks, and a good opportunity to be a top 4 dman in a ahl club for a year. If he doesn't want to play here fair enough, but isn't it better to sign now, then in 24 mths decline the contract offer by the avs and move on? I think so. But if he tells Sakic he want to move on from the avs now then he will be traded. Sucks because I think him and meloche could be a great d pairing in SA next year as the teams second line defense behind lidholm and Sergio.

Not on your watch right!

Here's the point. I could give a rat's rump what the Avs do. I have no feeling towards them either way. But for a college prospect to say that an NHL team holding his rights gave him their "whole spiel" to me was very revealing about his intentions. Also did I claim the Flyers were a franchise to aspire to? No you nincompoop.
I'll gladly list all the laughable events that have occurred to the flyers over the past 10 years if you ever want come out of your room.

Good lord man, triggered much? It's not that serious. And, not for nothing, you're reaching hard.

1. He projects somewhere between a bottom pairing powerplay specialist and a fringe NHL/AHL dman. At best, he's Torey Krug light (this is absolute best case scenario). At worst, he's Matt Gilroy. He likely falls somewhere in between.

2. What about that quote was "cherry picked"? You're acting as if it's some complex, smoke and mirrors statement that can be perceived several different ways. Pretty cut and dry what he said: he wants to go to UFA.

Signed,

Another Flyers fan.

I agree with ypur first point. Not the second. Talk to avs then talking to his family by no means, means he doesn't want to sign with the avs. And if he says no to avs then he'll be traded. If he says no to that team then he has black balled 2 nhl teams... and he has no leverage, missed out on a money now and missed an opportunity with 2 nhl teams. I think he will sign a loaded contract with the avs, ahl one year min.

If he doesn't sign with the Avs, that's fine. Honestly, it serves them right if the rumor is right about telling his "family advisor" last year that they had no intention of signing him. In hindsight, we gave Roy too much power and let him move the team in a direction that wasn't going to create a winning environment. Should we fire Sakic? No, but I do think he is on the hot seat. How he handles it now will say a lot about the GM he is going to be. Bednar needs quickness and so far Sakic has done that. The bottom six was nonexistent the beginning of the year, but towards the end it showed signs of promise with the call ups and waiver pick ups.

the only reason there was ever a debate between Nico and Patrick I think is because Patrick has been injured. He still rates #1 across the board in all categories by all scouts.

I just can't stand that guy, all he does is comes into the avs thread and other teams threads to take pot shots and lame dumper fire remarks. The Avs are bad you should be embarrassed. This is his schtick, and on cue he's in here again to comment on butcher in an attempt to take pot shots for no reason, as little as it may be, its still a douche thing to do.

Cherry picked is accuracte bc it's the Denver post. They had the title of butcher won't sign with the avs now and probably never based on that little qoute...they also were banging the drum on a storyline all year that Avs will not sign Butcher, they have no interest. THe post has deep narrative against the Avs as the writer Chamber loves the Pios over them. When the other Beat writers BSN are saying based on the knowledge they have from talks, they feel highly confident that Butcher will sign. I tend to agree with the guys who have been spot on and impartial with their coverage for the past few years. Without knowing that as an Avs fan you wouldnt be aware however Garth cherry picked the one thing to make his article sound like butcher to the Sabres is a done deal.

Who knows maybe there chance he doesn't sign with the avs thinking he will get vesey attention but he's really not that good to have a bidding war. He's not NHL ready.

If avs can't sign him for their ahl club, they will probably trade is rights to a team having the same issue signing their own guy.

So really he was being a jack ass posting in here for no reason, and it's tiresome and sad that coming in to a team as he claims doesn't give a rat poop about guy always seems to find his way in here to comment...yeah I think he deserves to be called out
