I could actually see LA being a good partner. They have dmen you'd probably want and they need scoring. Muzzin or Martinez + pick for Duchene?
- Rinosaur

I would riot if they did that. They can't be trading duchene for 27-28 year old Men. Guys like that would be on the decline of their careers by the time they are even ready to seriously contend.

They need youth to build along with their young core. Dmen 23 and younger are their target, I'm almost certain of that

now who thinks he's an insider? kinda double standard there no?

- Ross77

(frank) off already, you are annoying. No thats just Logic what I'm saying, not trying to claim to be an insider on what the NHL would perceive as a players trade value

Those guys aren't old lol. 27 and 28? Signed at reasonable contracts? You throw in a 1st?

Your team isn't only a few key moves from being where they need to be and Martinez or Muzzin would be a perfect way to round out your top four.

EDIT: Your team IS only a few moves.

Getting dmen who would be 31 year old who need new contracts by the time they finally have enough proper pieces in place would be a disaster (more to point in regards to Muzzin)

Even Duchene doesnt even fit into their age bracket anymore. MacKinnon is their oldest of the new core at 21. They need guys to build around him and that age bracket

Are the Avs really that far away? I think they're just lacking bottom 6 depth, and a defenseman or two. After a 50+ loss season it sounds crazy to say but they have some great pieces and did just go the season without their number 1 D and number 1 goalie for most of it.

Lots of skill from Landeskog, Rantanen, Jost, Grigerenko, Mackinnon, Duchene. A couple of free agent acquisitions and nabbing a solid prospect in this years draft and I think they're back in it. Unfortunately, I think a rebuild will happen.

IMO they need to do some light restructuring, not a rebuild.

no they are not that far. 2-3 years depending on how this offseason goes. Really need to look at how the Leafs did their retooling the past 2 years.

They need to figure out their goaltending and solidify the blue line. Zadorov, Barrie, and Johnson are a good start but they need a long term partner for Barrie on the Left Side.

Compher is solid too, hes going to be so fun next year being the 3C for a full season. They need wingers and that Top 4 Dman. If they can achieve that in a Duchene trade and their Top draft pick. They could be in a lot better place sooner rather than later

I have no idea what this means? oh well, keep over valuing your players like a Leafs fan. I also remember you ranting about how the Avs were going to surprise everyone this year and when i pointed out how wrong you'd be, you reacted the same way. No worries. Like i said, when you need to know how things will actually play out and want sound logic, i'm here.

How do the Jets suck so bad that they don't make the playoffs with the team that they have.

I think you still go Patrick, you dont turn that down. He has his question marks but his injuries played a big part to why his scoring rate was so down this year.

Nico has some discouraging under lying numbers based on his production (primary points, etc).

Im a fan of Tippet the most out of all the top rated picks but I don't even see him in the Top 5 range anymore. That guy is going to be a steal in the Top 10

I agree. I think we will see a lot of movement in this draft given that there is such range of where prospects will fall on different rankings.

I really think Soderberg's down year really affected the AVS. You guys have to hope that was just an aberration.
