A win for the Sabres looked probable with Panthers looking atrocious of late, but to my gleeful surprise, Joe Thornton, a warrior for this Florida team over its past four years was to play his last NHL game in front of his own fans and his teammates were not about to let the Sabres take this one! Buffalo got fortunate & lucky here
With help from Dallas the Sabres were approaching this afternoons game 82 with a legitimate chance at not only avoiding the 10th spot but skyrocketing down 5 draft places in 48 hrs!

Yes, I'm aware of Vegas pushing us and all teamed behind them after lottery back one place. I didn't bother going into the increased odds for the LOTTERY but I'm sure it's triple or more from 10 to 5
Carrier should be in the bottom 6 full time next season. Earlier this week, someone posted we need more Hagelin-type players in depth roles and I think 48 could develop into that.
On a side note, glad this crap show of a season is coming to an end. I am beyond embarrassed and enraged that the Leafs are in the postseason and look light years ahead of us at this time. Been watching this team for 20+ years now and that last home game against the Leafs was the low point for me as a Sabres fan. - The_Inkwell

I believe that's the spot Winnipeg was in when the us won the lotto & jumped to 2nd last year

Disco had a generally healthy roster once Jack and Kane came back. Thus for about 3/4 of the season is how he should be evaluated. We had our #1 goalie, #1 d-man, #1/2 centre (ROR) etc for virtually then entire season. It's BS if Disco and Murray go crawling into Pegula and say that we went backwards this year because of injuries. In my humble opinion.

Not sure if I was entertained but some good Buffaluck happened in the past week - re: the Sabres losing when they needed to and Dallas, Detroit and Florida all passing us.
