Between franson, bogo, kulikov and gorges there was every reason to believe this team would be bad

Bylsma let go.
6th pick to Carolina for one of their D-men.
Reinhart and a pick to Anaheim for one of their D-men.
Moulson (1.1MM Retained) for a pick
Gorges (1MM Retained) for a pick
Bogosian to Vegas

This is my ideal off-season.

How would you feel if they finished with 85 points? Would you be okay with that because that would have been a modest improvement. What about 90 points and still on the outside looking in. Would you be just as disappointed that they didn't make the playoffs?

honestly I expected more than a 4 point improvement

88-92 point range is where I thought they would be

Yeah. The Florida game was the one that worried me the most. After that loss, I figured no worse than 7th overall. Getting 6th overall, well pending the lottery result, was a pleasant surprise.

It shouldn't have ended this way.

Something MAJOR needs to happen.

Flip Reinhart and the pick for a decent guy?

Maybe he can pull that off?

He's way too full of himself to move one of his guys.

That's probably true.

Though he may need to put his pride aside, and put his money where his mouth is.

Who would you sack first, Murray or Bylsma?

New GM would probably give Byslma a chance. If Bylsma gets fired, Murray is next in line if the team doesn't respond.

What do you think the Sabres have been doing since 2012?

2012 draft - 2 1st rounders
2013 draft - 2 1st rounder, 3 2nd rounders
2014 draft - 2nd overall pick - 3 2nd rounders

We were stockpiling for a while up until Tim Murray came here and arrogantly thought he could speed the process up.

- sbroads24

Oh no doubt. I've been saying all year that GMTM butt (frank)ed this rebuild up....but they are still on the right track. You still have 3-5 holes to fill and some dead weight to discard and it won't all happen in the summer...but they will get there.

I have 0 faith in him to fix the D. But his incompetence may accidentally land us Rasmus Dahlin next year

Actually, there was. This defense was every bit the tire fire that some of us said it would be.

Agreed. Bylsma would get a short leash, say until Christmas if no improvement.

The current path the GM has the Sabres on is one of a good team. The problem is, anything less than a great one should be considered unacceptable given how they got there.

Byslma...I don't care that he got screwed having to deal with so many injuries. Nobody wants to play for him, you are going to get the same result even with a few difference faces.

Injuries didn't screw him. Murray did
