I'm finding a social divide among age groups right now. It could have to do with Liberal Arts and possible indoctrination. I see a dark trend of Socialism and Islamic Extremism that seem to be crossing paths. In the old world of looking at these two issues, they seem to be a juxtaposition. For some weird reason, they seem to have similar goals, but different ways to achieve them. I see a very dark trend in limiting free speech and actually the idea of destroying what the American Constitution's first amendment right of Free Speech and Assembly for all. On many of the College campuses we now have leftist groups shouting down those who don't agree with what they believe and even attacking some people that are of the Liberal persuasion and not just Conservative. Where does it end? It's not going to end well, as the United States and Western Civilization is now badly divided.

Leafs lock down a playoff spot.

A poster comes in to bash the Leafs and Liberals, with no other political talk happening.

Am I talking about Prince or kaaptan?

This. It's better to be an independent free thinker who scrutinizes all the parties, rather than accept everything the blue guy says and shout down everything the red guy says or vice versa.

so.... if we pull off a miracle and beat the Caps we would likely play the Pens in round 2!

Good times!

What if the blue guy was wearing a Leafs jersey, and the red guy was wearing a Habs jersey?

At least it's a baptism by fire for the kids, going up against the best. It's just amazing the Leafs jumped from 30th to 14th overall in one season.

“Well, I think it’s a way different thing for our team,” said Babcock, asked before the game about nerves. “What happens is you have nerves when you win the Presidents’ Trophy, and you’re playing a real good team in the first round. That’s when it’s a completely different program. We’re so far away from that program. We got two years left before that happens.”

Totally agree. Get'r done, that's what I say!

If Andersen is good to go and stands on his head, I wouldn't be shocked if we beat the Caps. We need to play tight defensively, but it is not that far out of the realm of possibility. Especially when the whole hockey world is expecting the Caps to win easily.

Pens on the other hand...

That's right Babs. All the pressure is on the Caps.

Yeah and no pressure on the Leafs, all the pressure on Ovie. I wouldn't bet money on the Leafs winning, in fact I already have bet money on the Caps winning the Cup, but they Leafs were rolling over the last quarter of the season. I don't think it's a walkover for the Caps.

You have to imagine they overweight defense in their drafting and hopefully find some more stability on the back end. Polak has been great lately and without him the team would've been in a lot more trouble. Adding one more year to those tires would make me nervous. Nielson and Dermott are the two guys who may be up next year, correct? Any good defensive free agents you'd be willing to pay?

I would have missed a Wednesday playoff game (vs Ott) so from that perspective I'm happy the Leafs play Caps. And as I said yesterday or day before already, I like the Leafs chances vs the Caps.

Time for Komarov-Martin-Boyle to show their playoff game (I hope Martin steps up his game like he did in playoffs for NYI).

Let's hope Andersen, Zaitsev and Polak will be back on Thursday.

Del Zotto and Alzner come to mind but at what cost?.....have to keep the rookies' raises after their ELC's in mind....and why would they leave their respective teams?...I don't know what the Leafs will do.

Many comedians on here. Pre-season picks had the Leafs buzzing around the 8th spot. Not everyone had them making the play-offs, I'll agree with that, but I didn't see anyone saying "top pick again in 2017".

They slightly over-achieved. Congrats for being 5% better than expected.

- babcockblows

Uh most of the pool magazines had the Leafs dead last(betwewn the leafs and vancouver).
