Hope Hak plays this conservatively. Need the point

He is already riding naked without VdV's solid 200 ft game. Let's not ask him to get too crazy here.

That turned out horrifically, and it's kinda ancient history by now, but at the same time, I understood exactly what Homer was trying to do

The way Laviolette's system works, a right-handed defender who could skate was something they wanted. They tried with Schenn, they tried with Eminger. Those guys were both first-rounders and had physical tools. Unfortunate that they just couldn't get the job done

- AllInForFlyers

I do think Homer was under the impression to push the envelope and get the Cup at any expense. I don't blame the organization really going so hard because of Snider getting older and other health problems even before his passing. However, it doesn't excuse the fact that both Homer and Clarke could pretty much just select forwards in the first round who could contribute at the NHL. Both of their track records of selecting prospects was pretty poor. Homer didn't do a bad job of finding undrafted gems though.

Always sad when they talk about guys who are moving on from the league

Patrik Elias...man. He and Brodeur were stone-cold Flyers killers for, what, 12-15 straight years?

Maybe Shane Doan, Jarome Iginla...man. I remember exactly where I was when Calgary traded Joe Nieuwendyk for a prospect, Iginla.

Gotta enjoy the best players while you can

MDZ can be horrific in the defensive zone, and he was partnered with Schultz on that shift, what could go wrong?

TO me Iginla in his prime was one of those players that just screamed a Flyer..would have given anything to have him during that time frame.

Seriously Weise? This guy didn't do anything when the games mattered now he is actively hurting the team by scoring.

Clearly, if the Flyers don't draft #12 or better in this draft, they are doomed to year after year of missing the playoffs. Clearly.

That was a softie from Lack, though. Man. Just a brutal one to give up from there

But that was a nice, nice move from Simmonds off an amazing play by Ghost. Man

I guess they were just gripping their sticks a little too tight earlier in the year.

I don't think anyone is arguing they can't make the playoffs by building this way

What he's done in his 40s is damn near as amazing, in its own way, as what he did in his 20s
