How does that screw the Sabres? would that not screw the NHL?

and if he is in the AHL, you can let him go play anyways.... How does this screw the Sabres again?

- gordong

With the players not going to the Olympics he could be the USA goaltender if he stays in college

no, I think they wanted to see the team play with no pressure for 2 games, to get false hope of the scrubs moving forward

or if its "that important to him" the sabres could let him go... like they let Nylander go this year.... think your making a something out of nothing.

Kris Baker‏ @SabresProspects

One interesting wrinkle with Cal Petersen....he could opt to stay at Notre Dame for his senior year if USA Hockey offers an Olympic spot.

I really don't know the rules but I'm pretty sure if you're under contract you can't head over there ..
Unless you get fined or suspended

if he is a good Catholic boy, the degree alone is worth more than the sabres could offer him for next season

Oh I know a lot of NHL players are going but he's just a prospect and I don't think the Sabres have any choice but to suspend him or fine him the max

I think Homie is right that if he signs here, it's going to be in the next 24 hours. It is complicated.

My question: Does he have to sign with the Sabres before their season is over (Sunday) to be able to burn the first year of the ELC?? Or is it June 1st?
