In all fairness, Bennett is looking to be quite a bust as well. I'd prefer any of Draisaitl, Nylander, Pastrnak, or Ehlers at this point. I know I'm being captain hindsight. Dude rode shotgun on Jack's wing for 40 plus games and is a fixture on PP1. He should produce WAY more than he is. Most games I hardly know he is even playing. Lastly, the next time he beats a guy one-on-one will be his first.

Hm. That adds some more fuel to the player/coach rift idea. I'm guessing Sam checked out after the in-game benching incident. This would also explain Eichel's linemates. Maybe it's Bysma's way of saying "the guys who show up get to play." If it is, he's a doofus for further alienating part of the core

So out of the top 6, ROR, Eichel, Reinhart, Okposo and probably Kane will be back. That means the top six is set, minus one guy. So the only place for turnover in personnel is in the bottom six. If Carrier and Gio are still on the bottom six, that means that you're only trying to change one line. If you're only changing one line, it's not enough to make a difference IMO. The bottom six needs a sweeping overhaul

I think Kane will be gone as part of a deal for a defenseman and I think Reinhart 'should' be played as the 3C.

If those two things happen, they will have ample space in the top 6 for changes.

The fact that its a non story. Werenski is among the most impressive rookies this year and hes been to one lol. I bet his boy matthews has missed at least one.
