I was at the game last night, and the end to me seemed pretty fitting. By the time the last whistle blew, half of the Sabres fans at the game had already gone to their cars to beat the traffic. What fans remained gave the players a cursory round of applause on the way out. No booing, just a half-hearted round of applause.

The game itself is what we've seen so many times before. I paid special attention to the breakouts, and it's infuriating that we try to get the puck out of the zone by having all five guys below the top of the faceoff circles. It just doesn't work.

The players aren't inspired, even if they are "well coached," whatever that means. The system is broken, and the fans in the arena feel it. There's no excitement because there's no reason to be excited. Even after the first goal, all i could think was "what does it matter"? The team needs a major shakeup. The coach and about 5-7 guys need to be turned over. Bylsma is done, even if he isn't fired, and i sincerely hope we don't wait til mid-november to make the move that is obviously needed now

Re: the coach, last night - on fan appreciation night - Reinhart played a minute more than DLO, who played with Girgs and Eichel. I'm just sick of this garbage. Play Eichel with exciting players. I'm just beyond frustrated

Is the fact that Erod has been our best rookie impressive?

Or

Sad, because bailey, fasching, baptiste couldn't lock down a roster spot.

IMO, I thought by december of this year bailey wouldve been a lock in our middle 6. He had a great first debut in philly but with all the effort he has the production doesnt come close. NEED someone to exceed their expected potential soon

to be a contender yes.

To challenge for a playoff spot, dont need as much to happen in one off season. I believe....in eichel. and on occasion ristolainen and o'reilly.

I see your point but to be honest i thought D Lo played great last night and earned his ice time. Cant just play players that arent pushing the pace

He's older than them so im not ready to put it in the sad category yet. Sad would be the fact that he may have been one of the most consistent forwards period in the final stretch of the season. Graned hes playing with something to prove but still

D-Lo played like a wrecking ball last night, but he's supposed to play like a wrecking ball on the 4th line.

If their pick is in the 6-10 range, I don't believe they will get any prospect as I think they will include it in a trade.
- kingcong39

I really like Nylander, but this should've happened last year. I dont think theyll get the same value for their pick this year in a draft thats all over the place after 3.

Draft anyone whose first/last name starts with an M

Mittelstadt
Makar
Miro Heiskanen
Michael Rasmussen(only because watching RJ try to do this and Rasmus Ristolainen would be so worth it)

Watching DLo skate for the puck reminds me of the Joker's quote from the dark knight. "He's like a dog chasing a car. He wouldn't know what to do with it if he caught it." That's great he runs around like an idiot but he sucks. His speed isn't worth the poor skill level. How many teams have a guy with 2 assists on their team as a regular?

How many of those teams would play that player with their best player?

True, accepted the bottom 6 role and ran with it. Bailey isnt lost yet but with all these injuries i thought this was a prime year for Bailey to grab a spot and lock it down for the future.

IMO i wouldve liked to see baptiste up here more

It's incredible that a guy who doesn't have a goal by game 80 is playing at all

1) Sam played with jack Last night (except when jack was double shifting)
2) It's a meaningless game and DL hasn't been on jacks line once this year
3) Bottom six played well last night

Same but you want these guys to play in roles that you project them in. Once Carrier inexplicably locked down a spot with ROR it wasn't good news for bailey or baptiste.

Long term probably better off playing on a scoring line in rochester.

I dont hate it but im saying those two havent proved anything yet to staple them in a top 6 role. IMO thats not getting you into the playoffs today

im not really praising the guy. would have liked to see him play like that the whole season. but his forcheck was a direct reason why we scored the first goal....and we only had 2 last night.
again, i agree he shouldnt be playing with the talented players. but it seems that putting 3 of our talented forwards on a line wasnt really getting anything done this year.
in short, this team still needs a lot of work.

I don't get the love for Carrier at all. He's another bland, non-producing forward. Gionta needs to be replaced by a stud PK vet IMO.
