Does he play for the Flyers or the Phantoms Saturday is my question.

I also loved Sam speaking at to the speed difference.

I would send him down to play against Hershey today and call him back up for the weekend. after Sunday send him, McDonald and Weal back for the playoff run

But pointing out about his ice time on the basis he was supposed to be a scratch before someone got ill is lame and you should know that. Especially since he's been a lightning rod here for criticism. The guy only played because he was next man up when someone went down.
- dragonoffrost

I'm just stating his time on ice. If you think that's critical, you seem to be the one trying to instigate a fight.

*Dude, have you seriously not caught on yet?

I thought Vecchione looked better as the game progressed and played well in the 3rd. Considering the kid hadn't played in a week and jumped from college to the NHL with little practice time, I give him the thumbs up.

I was very happy with Morin. I know Bill and some others say otherwise but I still think the kid could stand to put a few more pounds of muscle on. and my goodness, can he be interviewed every game regardless of how he plays. He just says what he thinks with excitement

- nastyflyergirl

Morin's chat with Bundy was great.

I loved his post game interview and he would catch himself getting excited and try to contain it. And he even mentioned how he wants to grow more and become more physically mature even though he's already a monster.

Do the post-TDL callups pertain to the amount of players, or the amount of overall call-ups? They've already called up McDonald, Stolarz, Weal, and Morin, so I do believe they are maxed out if it pertains to amount of call-ups as opposed to players.

Kinda my thoughts now that I've taken another look at the schedules. Just would stink if him missing two games this late could cost them the playoffs with the stupid AHL rules.

So now we just need the Jets, Kings, and Canes to win out.

He looked solid overall, but he needs to work on his quick decision making. A few times, he seemed to rush a play when he was pressured. It's nothing to get upset about after one game, especially since Provorov (I'm not directly comparing the 2 players) had similar issues in his NHL regular season debut. I'm sure nerves and player speed/skill come into play. But his defensive play, both physically and uses his size to break up plays, was what I'd expected. He also jumped up a few times, which was interesting.

Otherwise, I thought Ghost looked great in both zones. Provorov continues to be Provorov. Mason looked really good, still pissed we re-upped Neuvirth.

Chris VandeVelde got 15 minutes of ice time. So that was a thing.

Nick Schultz continues to play. Also was a thing.

5 penalties to kill will do that

Unless I'm mistaken, you can only do 4 recalls from the AHL after the TDL. However, I don't know if you can recall the same 4 players a bunch of times, or if you can only do a recall 4 times.

they play Wed, Friday and Sat. I don't know the rules about how many players can come up and down at this point but if it is allowed, I would prefer be play in the game today and Friday with the Phantoms. they are big games

konecny was a mess I think he's worn down too. But he was either swimming all over the place or flattened on the wall like a fly

Konecny got benched for taking a penalty

I agree. If he can go up and down, I'd play him today and Friday. Not sure what do about Saturday and Sunday, that would be 5 games in 6 days for him. If he stays down, play him Saturday. If not, recall him but play him only 1 of the 2. Preferably Sunday since I'm going.

Couturier has won 55.1% of his faceoffs this season. That's the 15th best percentage in the entire league (minimum 500 faceoffs).

I showed a few weeks ago that winning faceoffs is actually inversely proportional to winning games

If he plays Friday for LV I wouldn't play him Saturday afternoon for Philly. Kinda like they already announced Vecchione is out Saturday due to the Hobey Baker Award Presentation Friday.

I am not understanding why fans were so peaved that Konecny got benched after his dumb penalty. It's a meaningless game and he can be rehabilitated. That said, mediocre to down right poor players get way too much playing time IMO. That has to change next year.
- redcoat75

Why did he get benched, but other guys like Schenn don't? There is no consistency with this coach.

It is call ups...players can be loaned to and from the team i.e. Weal and Stolarz (not sure on the other two) as injury replacements. All of the guys have technically replaced someone that was injured. I think there are enough ways for teams to get around the rule

precisely...it actually isnt that bad, but Kings/Jets need to get 3/4 if you assume the Flyers generally do pretty well at home

Half of his ice time was against the NJ goon line from Albany again. I'm fine with it.

seems like a line to exploit
