seems like a line to exploit
- YuenglingJagr

Or a line to get someone hurt against the way those 3 were running around. I'd prefer VDV be their target.

Plus you change lines post faceoff then guess what NJ can respond with another line change also. It's just dependent on how committed you want to be to playing line matches. Hak seems to not really match lines on the road.

The Devils are a disgrace to the league. Their alien masquerading as a human/head coach actually defended their goon hitting Gudas when the puck was at the other end of the rink.

What a scumbag comment about a scumbag move. There is nothing honorable about hitting an unsuspecting player away from the puck and out of the play after that player made a clean hit.

I agree. If he can go up and down, I'd play him today and Friday. Not sure what do about Saturday and Sunday, that would be 5 games in 6 days for him. If he stays down, play him Saturday. If not, recall him but play him only 1 of the 2. Preferably Sunday since I'm going.

if they beat Hershey today that would give them 94 points to Hershey's 87 with Hershey having 4 games left to the Phantoms 5. they would be in good shape to clinch a spot. of course its in their best interest to finish 2nd or 3rd to avoid WBS pens in the first round and 2nd, 3rd and 4th are separated by 2 points. crazy close division 2 thru 5

Prout and the commenters are freaking clueless. Weise is on PP2 which I believe Hak rolled out to start that PP. Also who did they think Hextall would expect to be the call up when Quennville was sent down.

Let's be real Quennville being demoted means Gadzic was being recalled. Then he goes out and tries to stir the pot and fails. LOVED IT!

The other thing about the Weise hit was that yes it was late, but the puck had been there a moment before and the hit could be argued it was in the context of play. It really should have been a 2 minute minor.

What Prout did was flatout headhunting.

I thought Morin's game got stronger as the game went on. The first period was one to forget but he did a good job at taking each shift at a time.

I knew Weise was 5 and a game instantly. The sheer violence of that hit deemed it worthy of the major. We heard it behind the opposite net clear as if it happened right in front of us. Palmieri is lucky to not have a concussion. Weise was headhunting also.

I never said it was great, good, bad, or detrimental. I merely stated the fact that a player who was originally slated to be a healthy scratch played 15 minutes.
- jmatchett383

My husband was confused when I started laughing when I heard he was in the line-up. I had to stop and explain my amusement that he wasn't scratched. Again. Course then I had to check to see if Colin McDonald died of dysentery.

I instantly logged in as soon as I saw Vandy in the lineup. I swore heads would explode.

Ducks Flames game last night was pretty wild. Would be a very interesting first round matchup.

Cam Fowler got taken out by a knee on knee and then poop went down after that

Why did he get benched, but other guys like Schenn don't? There is no consistency with this coach.
- PhillySportsGuy

Lets be real, for the most part, rookies are treated differently than veterans. The thing with Konecny is he continues to make the same mistakes. I think he will learn and get it

Didn't the benching take place after the penalty that could have been like 3 different calls. I mean come on kid you got to be smarter than do all that at one time. Something will been seen and called.

I showed a few weeks ago that winning faceoffs is actually inversely proportional to winning games

Just got here and haven't back-read yet so forgive me if this has been asked already.

Has a team ever had a 10 game winning streak and earned 56 points at home and still miss the playoffs?

Asking for some friends.

According to the Devils fan who was in here yesterday, someone should have run Thomson after he hit Simmonds hard. Because you live by the sword, you die by the sword. Or some such poop.

The answer to the first half is no, so the overall answer is no.

Imagine losing 4 of 5 games to the "disgrace of the league" That would be pretty embarrassing wouldn't it? I'm thinking there will be a way to try and rationalize it.

Flyers HF board got particularly toxic about it. It seems that NHL coaching is the easiest job on the planet- everyone seems to know how to do it.
- missingmike

Yep. Many of the posters here could do it. GM, too. Super easy job.

They're a disgrace because they committed a blatant act of thuggery and are trying to justify it. It has nothing to do with wins or losses.

You should have practiced your reading comprehension in your time off because it's still barely elementary school level.

Oh ok. The fact they've lost 18 of their last 21 games while beating the Flyers twice makes them what exactly?
