Canucks will have formed their starting team for the Kings in China early on. So forget camp battles.

Expect non waiver exempt players back and starting the season. There are 5 spots likely open with DD at very least as extra.

Even with a trade for a forward Canucks will be entertaining the tested players. Look for Boucher, Rodin, Guance, Cram, Chaput, Shore, and Skille all back on show me contracts to fill the bottom 6 out. Megna all ready is on that for depth.

Those cut will go help the rookies for depth with Comets.

1. Rodin is a skilled winger who will play on an league minimum contract and if healthy can finally show his skill
2. Yes. Neck injury and all, fused vertebrae, etc... he's not the most skilled guy and we can get a guy to do the same for cheaper... we could do the Malhotra deal with him... Team doctors say its over...

He left out arranging to break Danny"s legs while sight seeing in China during exhibition game sorjourn. Them drivers are crazy over there. Wouldn't be the first time a Canuck was hit by a car during pre-season

Rodin is unproven NHL skilled winger gets a PTO at best IMO
The guy is an accident waiting to happen.

I have no delusions about how next season will pan out.
What i do want is to see growth & development of the youth.
If a Megna wins a spot fine but he is a fringe player if others can compete & make their case that they earn playing time. The process is far beyond 1 more year of the Sedins

And the following year we will get a even higher draft pick.

For me he is a non factor. He hasn't done anything yet. He looks out of place so far ,but when the whole roster can't score he blends in .
