I don't like the Ducks but Gio's knee on knee was a wussy move. You guys are out in the first round! |

It wasn't intentional. The Ducks have been trying to intimidate the Flames for the last two games and at least the Flames answered tonight. Just too bad it wasn't Kesler who got his knee taken out. |

I liked the response from the Flames. They stood up to the Ducks and even got in a couple slashes on Kesler. Too bad Kesler wouldn't fight Ferland but Kesler only picks on non fighters. |

I think they were physically outmatched in the last two games but tonight they matched the Ducks. IMO they were the better team and could have or even should have won. If the Flames do play them, I think they have a decent chance. |

Did Gio really look like he stuck his shin out there? Seemed like an honest mistake.
Nice move by Holzer to steal the whoopin' Kesler was about to get! |

What are the odds you go another summer without getting laid...(frank) off - jessehub
You had to love the cheer that went up in the arena tonight: "You can't win here." Calgary's impotence in Anaheim is comical.
Just so you know, my question was informed by the statistical anomaly that is this streak. I didn't mean it as troll bait. But since you are even more douchy than the teenagers that inhabit the Edmonton blog, I've lost all respect. Enjoy your life alone. |

It's hard to prove intent. Just ask anyone involved in the Wideman fiasco. Intentional or not, a knee to knee hit is dirty. If you knew hockey you'd know that. Good on Gio for answering for it. |

Um, no. A dirty hit is only dirty because it's intentional.
Maybe the word you're looking for is dangerous. |

Disagree. Have played plenty of hockey and sometimes one person goes one way and the other splits in the other direction. Legs hit sometimes. Gio isn't one known to take cheap shots.
Agreed though; good he answered for it. Intentional or not. |

So what the hell happened tonight? Ducks get 36 PIM and the Flames get 76?
Has Backlund ever had a game misconduct in his life? Has Monahan ever had a roughing penalty?
And Tkachuk got 0 PIM!!?!! What kind of a leash have they put on him?
Why didn't Holzbien(?) geta third man in game. I think it was him that grabbed the linesman when he was separating the players, too. He should have been out and suspended.
The Oil should be happy we helped them get to play the Sharks. After the last two games we should be glad to play Chicago and let Nashville beat the crap out of the Ducks. At least that way, Gaudreau won't risk spending the summer rehabbing.
Flames have played a lot of great hockey this year. Next year will be even better.
Maybe by then the Wideman curse will be finished.

And Monahan. So Frolik, Johnny and Monny...three guys who probably have never had a career fight between them. He learned from the best ... Burrows. Kesler has turned into quite a pest. |

Call me crazy but no way! Take away the 2 bad goals and who knows what happens! We lost for sure but for some reason I think we took a step forward last night! |

Flames answered the Ducks physicality. Problem was that it was when Anaheim was winning. I want to see the Flames do the same thing to the Ducks when the Flames are a couple goals up.
I think the game was positive. Showed we can roll with them. Would be a blood bath of a series if they make 7 games.
