The players that are paid well should be expected to be your better players.
I don't think they were this year. - johndewar
The salary cap doesn't disagree with me. They're under the cap, so what is the issue? Is Ivan Provorov the highest paid player? Was VDV better than Giroux and Voracek?
At least whining about AMac, you'd be whining about a guy making way more money than he deserves. I'd understand that a little better.
With VdV, I'm pretty sure you can't pay someone less than what he is paid and be called an NHL player. Only the current AHL callups (Weal, Colin McDonald) make less. - johndewar
Vandevelde remained in the lineup for some very simple reasons. The complaining about it was ridiculous. As a fan, having a couple of young players to watch adds to the excitement of tonight's game obviously.

Straight up, are you disappointed to see VDV out of the line up?
My issue with it is more what it represents. It is the PBR of Olympic sports. (except I actually like it). Curling isn't something that happens once every 4 years.
It is actually somewhat difficult to get into...you need to be in a club. A curling gang, if you will. I looked into trying it recently. You can't really just throw some stones on an ice rink

Didn't Isaac post a pic of a non-vandevelde lineup before only for him to find his way in? There are still 6 more hours for Colin McDonald to die of dysentery - YuenglingJagr

No you're not. You're just pissed someone did it to your team.
You think every guy on the ice is in perfect position to tell if a hit is clean or not? They don't get a video to review before deciding to retaliate. This garbage happens all the time in hockey and the Flyers (Gudas, ironically particularly) are some of the ones who perpetuate it. I'm not defending the hit but holy crap, if you're going to live by the sword you die by the sword.
Frankly, I've always admired the Flyers for their hard play even if it often pushes these boundaries. But its pretty ironic to see everyone now act so indignant. - Queenie_5_hole
Please listen to the DoPS video on Prout's 2 game vacation and tell me again what place that play has in any sport. It was a blatant cheap shot. He's lucky he got 2 and not 4 or more. Any of your boys act up tonight and it will be a body bag game. Good luck.

For some reason, I love watching Curling. My only issue is that I honestly don't quite understand all of it.

I enjoy throwing small stones on the ice during youth hockey games.

You have to lightly push a stone, then alternate between yelling "YEP!" "HAAAARRRDD!" and "NO!" While the yelling goes on, 2 people try to clean up the ice to save the zamboni gas.

I only have an interest in it when the Olympics roll around. I find it interesting and relaxing.
I don't think he will have any offers. Although I have not asked him about it, I think he may just stay in this area for family reasons if there are no offers for next season. Part of the reason he signed a relatively inexpensive multi-year deal during his bounceback season his first year herre was because he'd been moving around several times (after being in Minnesota for so long) in a short period of time and his wife and kids liked it here. - bmeltzer
What about a Phantoms contract? If Morin and Sanheim (who both killed a lot of penalties this season) are on the Flyers he could add veteran depth in LV.
