Once again, 9 minutes of Chris VandeVelde at even strength cost the Flyers hockey team a win.

Hard to believe a guy making 700k couldn't bring home a win tonight singlehandedly.

I didn't see a second of the game, got a text from a friend that said some nobody went around Morin like he was a cigar store indian, also said he got put on his ass his first shift. This isn't true is it?
- PLindbergh31

He did a lot of good things too, but yeah. He looked like a rookie in his first ever regular season NHL game.

He looks JUST LIKE Pronger, so I can't believe he didn't score a triple hat trick tonight.

The perspective that Al Morganti imparted in the post game show is relevant.

Morin played in his first NHL regular season game and remarked on multiple occasions about the speed of the game.

What does that say about how good 19 YO Provorov has been? He's our #1 guy now, right? Has to be.

Eaten alive by the bottom feeders of the NHL. Lost 6 of 7 to Devils and Coyotes.

Shutout by Kinkaid and the Devils again is comical.

He got burned once, because he's a 22 year old defenseman playing in his first game in the NHL. Otherwise he played a solid game. Demonstrated sick closing speed on a Taylor Hall partial breakaway which would have been a full out breakaway if anyone other than Provorov was out there.

He got put on his ass, yeah, after some fantasy camp guy named Thompson came at full bore from the slot into the corner to hit him. This was a quarter second after a Devil tried to hit him and literally bounced off him.

You are a hemorrhoid.

This Thompson must be about 9 feet tall and 700 pounds.

That doesn't surprise me.

And i didn't think Morin's presence would change that.

The thing I liked most about Morin is that he went out and played hockey. He didn't seek a fight and didn't goon anything up because there was that buildup to this game.

Like most rookies, he did good things and he did things you want to change. But I was pleased he didn't just make this game some WWE nonsense.

Thompson's a good kid who was playing his first game in the NHL....I thought all 3 first time guys tonight including the Flyers two played really good.

I thought Morin looked really good...has really improved his mobility. Lot of hard work obviously is paying off.

I was far more proud of Morin for NOT fighting for fighting's sake and just playing hockey.

I didn't see any of it, so I can't comment on his performance. I'm not expecting Morin in his first NHL game to be changing the outcome of the game. That is too much to ask.
Getting dismantled by this POS Devils franchise all year is flat out embarrassing.

There are things he's gonna be able to do just because of his size. He's one of those players that's gonna develop into his 20's as he figures out what he can and can't do.

I'm encouraged.

Dude, this Flyers team CANNOT play anyone 5 on 5. Especially the Devils, for whatever reason.

I guess it's all Chris VandeVelde's fault and i guess it's wrong to fault any of the players that are paid to actually lead this team, but whatever.

There was no call tonight for him to fight.....for a first game I thought he looked good...he punishes guys in the dzone. Obviously he can fight, which is never a bad thing.

Didn't mention VDV. If this teams core can't play with bottom feeders 5 on 5, people think adding young kids on the blueline who will have growing pains for years is going to change this?

The Devils called up dudes tonight for this game that only fight. That opportunity was totally there and setup for him.

I was pretty proud that he passed that bullpoop up and just played hockey.

Apparently, there are those mythical Gretzky's that play on the 4th line for EVERY OTHER NHL team that we don't have.

Maybe, and just maybe, our top 6 forwards aren't great. And maybe, just maybe, our top 4 defenseman aren't that great.

But yes, let's totally focus on the 4th line of a team that's been on the bubble for 4 years. Exactly what we need to focus on.

This franchise couldn't be further away from winning a Cup if they were playing games on Saturn.

The one guy Gadzic ...yes....Thomson is a more complete guy... Not offensive but a good , solid powerful kid, going back to his days in Kitchener...as you saw tonight, he can skate...he can hit....and yes he can fight....a poor mans Tom Wilson. (If that's a thing)
