I think it unfortunately almost will become a role for him in the NHL. The go to bruiser/tough guy. Not truly a bad thing, but I hope has becomes more than a Gauthier so to speak.

Guys like Orpik in their prime could also play big minutes.

It's his 1st nhl game I'm going to hold off on making any big assumptions.

Just want to see some needless violence is all.

I'm hoping for Coburn with a mean streak.

I'm praying it's not Luke Schenn 2.0

- hereticpride

If he ends up as a 3rd pairing dman like LSchenn it won't be because he can't skate well, which is Schenn's main problem.

I think I read somewhere that in Juniors/AHL he has almost become a target for other goons looking to make a name for themselves.

He's got a mean streak, and is going to bring that intimidation factor. I just want the kid to play solid D as well, and not handle the puck like Schenn. Basically I want more than a neanderthal.

Actually my main beef with Schenn was the inability to do anything with the puck. He could make a decent short north/south pass but you have to be able to skate with the puck a bit as a D-man.

Thank god he's off the club.

Love the prospect updates, Bill. Thanks!! Any idea what Rubtsov's injury is?

Also looking forward to Morin laying some smack down tonight!

I think when it all shakes out he will be a "third pair d-man"

No issue with that. 3rd pair d-men dont have to be a piece of poop, that you are scared to send out there. It's time we raise our standards.

Myers looked damn good at the Juniors, thats basically all I've seen of him.

True, and it was also meant to point out how absolutely silly the whole first second third pair, first second third fourth line talk can get. People get so hung up on the label.

He made 5 or 6 flawless clearings verse us this year. It enraged me to the level of no return. MVP.

When you have talent on every pairing and line it's a useless argument. When your 4th line consists of tweener nhl players I think the conversation becomes relevant. Here's to having talent. *cheers*

You would think. But you just wait until the "Ghost is a third pair d-man" conversation.....

Fans will always be down to watch a young club learning to win. At the very least its the unknown element.

Rolling out vets who have no future with the club, and do nothing to elevate it's status is boring as hell. Fun times are a 'comin... Hopefully.

I almost expected Hagg to be up 1st after the comments they made regarding him being NHL ready. Ahhh well, the enema to this defense core is finally inserted.

Shall be a beautiful sight.

I think its more about the role. Gudas out makes sense that Morin would be the one in.
