I'm not even sure what goal or statement you're talking about. The last time the Kings played the Ducks LA won 4-1. When Cogliano scored the only Anaheim goal Fox talked about how great that line was playing and how it was a perfect tip, which it was.

Not trolling in this Ducks - Kings dispute, but I must say that the Ducks have two of hockey's biggest POS in Kessler and Perry. Hawks playoff victory over the Ducks in 2015 was probably my favorite series ever!

realistically, what can they do during the off season and going into next season? does it really make sense to get rid of Lombardi?

sure you can blame him for the contracts, but he isn't really at fault for why the team is not performing.

I can, however, point to Sutter and the coaching staff for very specific things.

-he hates to use the young talent in ways that breed scoring and success and relies to heavily on veterans in situations where they don't produce.

-he refuses to admit that the team is much slower than the rest of the league.

-he is dismissive of any line of questioning that would force him to be accountable for his decisions.

-he kills offense with his game plan. D never allowed to pinch, D never join the rush unless they are in a desperate game situation. He preaches shooting the puck solely with the intent of getting a rebound, when rebounds should be viewed as a by product of trying to score (and yes, sometimes you take a shot to score that has a higher % chance for a rebound.)

-he looks lost behind the bench 90% of the time.

-his line combinations for 5v5 and the Power play are extremely questionable most of the time.

Davis Payne has an uncanny ability to assemble the most predictable power play set ups game in and game out.

John Stevens is nothing but a Sutter disciple so he should not be given the helm and should be walked out the door with the rest of the staff.

You just described Canucks WD to a tee. Are these coaches on losing teams all cloned from the same school of stubbornness?!? But the other side always argues blame management for the sucky players the coaches are saddled with.

This all seems to be a common theme and not solely a Kings issue. Issues always argued:

Solution 1. Tear it down. Wait a decade.

Solution 2. Fire the coaches. Bring in others that say will do the opposite and then find they do the same with the same players.

Solution 3. Prey for lotto luck and generational talent.

Solution 4. Rinse and repeat all the above.

The thing about it though, I also lived on the most fertile soil resulting in the best yields of crops. However, in those three years time I was super cheap, used lots of peaticides, lots of inorganic materials, and used inproper methods of replenishment. In that three years time, my soil went to rock and dirt, my yields were poor, and my pumpkins resembled a wrinkled nutsack? Would you call me a moron then?
