Severely underrated movie, IMO.

Also, I think those moves would help this team tremendously. We would live/die by the prospects that are here (Nylander,Bailey,Baptiste,Fasching,Carrier,Guhle)

I love that movie. My brother and I quote it all the time.

I do know quite a few that hate it though.

Draft top 5
Kane and a pick to Vancouver for a d-man
Reinhart to Anaheim/Carolina for a d-man
Sign Antipin
Risto to for a top 3 F

The centers next year are going to be an interesting question as for the first time in a very long time, they have plenty of them.

Assuming Asplund is ready, you have Eichel, O'Reilly, Asplund, Girgensons, Larsson, and Rodrigues.

It is going to be very interesting to see what they do with that group, especially if they believe Reinhart is better at center like I do.

It will be interesting for sure. If we can strike gold and win a top 2 pick, that would solve a lot IMO.

That would be great, but if they don't and they end up in the 6-8 range, I would think a combination of Kane plus that pick would be a good starting point toward finding a quality D man.

I know it would be a massive shakeup but like i mentioned

Kane and a pick for a d-man
Reinhart for a d-man
Risto for a top 3 forward

I just don't know if I want Murray making those moves, or I want someone else looking at it. I'm starting to second guess him a bit.

just stop man you're embarrassing yourself.. both are good players but Matthews is easily better than eichel.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

This Eichel/Matthews argument is pretty ridiculous. Most Sabres fans realize that Matthews is clearly better, so just ignore the homer-goggled ones that refuse to be objective.

I theorize that we (Sabres fans) would be more objective if the rebuild was going more smoothly/competently, but due to injuries and at least the perception that the rebuild was rushed, we are frustrated and grasping at "hope-straws", ie. Eichel is better than Matthews, Reinhart is developing well, our core is young etc.

IMO that was pretty mainstream unlike quick change, which I think was the under rated movie

Again, This team needs fixing. How else are we supposed to do it?

IF you can get 2 good d-men in here for Kane and Reinhart, sign Antipin, bring in Guhle.

Move Risto for a top 3 forward.

I'm open to all options to make this team better.

Only person not on the table is Eichel. Everyone else is on the table. If not, Murray is not doing his job and needs to be removed.

This team needs so much. I don't know if I trust Murray to do it without overpaying.

You trade Risto you end up with a HUGE hole in the defense.

Rhino.....i get the argument i really do. But I want to see him in a different system.

And I agree with you that the rest of the team are on the block.

He has been terrible the last few games. I wonder if he might have a nagging injury?

As long as Guhle isn't poop and if we get Antipin, I'm more than happy going forward. That's not even including our 1st rounder(either the pick or trading it).

He is not moving Risto, he was offered deals for him and he turned them all down.

*******************************************

His whiffs in trying to clear the zone that resulted in give-aways/goals turned the tone of the game to the opponents' favor the last two games. Not wholly Lehner's fault . . .

Sabres can't clear the defensive zone with any efficiency or consistency.

Dump and chase for offensive possession is not a strategic game plan . . . 'tis wishful thinking.

That's the thing, though... there is really no evidence of Matthews being better, so it's not being a homer to say so. Both are great players, but the fact remains, this season, Eichel is out producing Matthews, and that's what it's all about.

Afinogenov was lightening fast and Ennis can stick handle in a phone booth, but are they better than Matthews and McDavid? Of course not, but why? Because they don't produce points.

Matthews may be more a natural goal scorer, but he has yet to produce a one-timer like Eichel or make a goalie look invisible like Eichel did to Anderson on that break away yesterday.

Matthews success is also a product of the quality around him, he has some really talented fellow rookies to play with. You know that's not going to last. The league will adjust to the Leafs rookies by next year and their production will suffer for it.

3 games to get 6 points. Looking more like plateauing or dare I say it regression than progression this season.

Also, not sure how we can argue Eichel is better than Matthews. 40 goals in rookie season. Yeeeeshka.

Welcome to Paradise Buffalo Sports Fans. At least next year won't feel like a disappointment because at this point, how could you expect anything from either team?
