Point is we are golfing yet again and the Leafs are in the playoffs after 2 years on the same plan we were on. Matthews is a better goal scorer then Eichel. Eichel is a very good player but he isn't a pure goal scorer. Both are good players just Matthews has the edge,.

As an outsider I'd argue you're team is substantially better, its just that sometimes rebuilding teams take a step back or sideways. Its what management does to identify and address team weaknesses that helps the rebuild to move forward. Chicago took 9 years to accumulate their depth of talent. Rebuilds don't happen in 2-3 years.

Our rebuild started with trading away Gaustad back in Feb of 2012, so we are a bit behind by this point, changes need to be made this off season.

Not really though, we should be farther along. Still have more work to do and shed some dead weight.

What matters is the last 2, just like what matters is the last 2-3 for the Sabres under Murray and Pegula. Leafs are farther ahead and the Sabres should be also. We haven't taken the next step IMO and the Leafs have. I guess we have to keep waiting.
