To me eichel is a bit more special of a player. A bit rarer of a talent and harder to acquire. He is a ppg player at 20
- Just5

And Matthews is close to Eichel.

"Chris Pronger? Wasn't he drafted 2nd? Pfffft."

- Alexandre Daigle

- johndewar

For some reason, every time I see Daigle, I immediately go Falloon. I have no idea why.

No way. A #1 defenseman is difficult to acquire more so than a forward of Eichel's ability. Provorov is our best chance. Provorov is as close to an untouchable player as you can get.
- MJL

thats a really tough choice

There is only so much room for all our goalie prospects, if they continue to develop well and establish a name for themselves. Could the flyers down the road here in the not far distant future use one of them as trade bait, maybe in a package for a player?
There is a limited amount of room for goalies in the pro level. Might be a good problem to have as most these kids are all around the same age.

Agree, it's a very good problem to have. The Caps at one time had Varly, Neuvy, and Holtby. Young goalies tend to have some real trade value.

Goalies and D prospects are what we are hoping to be able to move when they all mature to be able to grab those forward pieces that are much easier to get than the previous 2 positions.

On the same night the Flyers were officially eliminated from playoff contention, Hart again reaffirmed why the future remains bright in Philadelphia with an astonishing performance in net for Everett, which dispatched Victoria, 3-2, in five overtimes -- the longest game in CHL playoff history -- to win its playoff series, 4-2. Hart stopped 64 shots in 151:36 against the Royals, allowing both goals in the second period. Think about that. From 3:56 left in the second period until the end of the game, Hart didn't allow another goal. That's over another full game's worth of minutes -- almost two full games. That's incredible. Hart was excellent -- as he's been all season long -- in the entire series. In six games, Hart has a 1.58 goals-against average and .938 save percentage.

Philippe Myers added two assists in Rouyn-Noranda's 6-5 triple-overtime win over Halifax in Game 5 on Friday night. Myers has six points in five games.

I watched Saturday's OT game. Kinda glad it just went to one OT in retrospect. I'm not sure if I saw a down game or what but Everett's D is doing that kid no favours (at least in that game).

I think I agree with you. Though I would give it some serious thought. And only because we have Sandheim, Morin, Myers, Hagg etc waiting in the wings.

But MJL is correct, a franchise d-man like Provorov is the rarest of rarities. And yes, I believe he is a franchise dman,

- MBFlyerfan

Every game I watch him play and just marvel at the plays he makes. Believe me I am elated they have the pool of young dmen coming along but I don't view any of them like Provorov.

Exactly if I'm Hextall you can't pry Provorov from my cold dead hands right now.

checking in on the idiotic playoff format, the west is pretty close to what it should be with only 3 vs 7 and 2 vs 6 being off. close enough. the east however is a clusterbleep. 5 plays 4 with 5 being the home team. 2 plays 3 and 6 plays 7. we will see (most likely save a huge upset) 1 play 2/3 winner and 4/5 winner play 6/7 winner. who thinks that is good for hockey?

Since the topic earlier was on luck in the lottery draft, I ran Tankathon and scored the number 1 pick...We should be all set this year!

Yes he has 2 seasons of safe to go. But that could be it if they don't turn it around during 2018-2019

Will be interesting to see if the Flyers stand pat with the current forward core. It's obvious with the decline of Giroux, and the underwhelming 5 on 5 numbers that there is an issue there.

Will the club hang on to its players and simply hope for help to come from the draft?

Or do they move some of them now?

When a fan asked Pronman on Twitter if Sanheim reminds him of Chris Pronger, ESPN's Corey Pronman said, "I think Sanheim is a mix between the next Chris Pronger and Shea Weber."

Can't wait until Sanheim steps on a player with his skate or smashes a player's head into the glass.

I think he has Sanheim confused with some odd Morin/Sanheim hybrid.

- jmatchett383

If they could merge Sanheim's skating and skill with Morin's build and disposition, it would be a sight to see!

I'd say more like 1.5. If they miss again next year, and get off to a bad start in 18-19, I think that would be it for Hak.
