I would be furious if they traded Voracek straight up for Evander Kane. Voracek needs to be more consistent and assert himself more, but I'm taking him over Kane every day. - jmatchett383
For f sake!!!! I wanted e kane earlier in the season when buffalo was begging people to take him and I crucified for it. Now we want him!!???

Agreed. Now make it Kane and their 1st round pick (likely tween 6-8), now I'm thinking about it.
Of guys who fought regularly, some of the worst at it were:
Andre Dupont
Don Saleski
Lindsay Carson
Scott Daniels
Riley Cote
Here are some guys that could legitimately hurt you in a fight:
Dave Schultz (often with a headbutt, LOL)
Mel Bridgman
Paul Holmgren
Behn Wilson
Dave Brown
Eric Lindros
Donald Brashear - BiggE
Schultz was probably the meanest fighter of all time, but he's not a top-5 Flyer for me. I think Behn Wilson and Dave Brown probably had 2 of the biggest bombs in history along with Kocur and Boogaard. I've said it before, but I give Wendell Clark full marks for surviving past the 25 second mark of this video
You do realize that only 6 players in the NHL have 80 or more points and that, at most, only 1 or maybe 2 more might reach that level.
Right now, 65 points would have you 28th in the league and 70 points would have you tied for 12th. If you finish with 65 or more points you are, without question, a 1st line player, and first line players get paid that kind of money. - BiggE
I would to see them produce the numbers they had when they got these raises. These 2 aren't old and are supposed to still be in their prime.

Wilson was downright scary. He, Brown and Holmgren were the top 3 in my book, though Bridgman would be a very close 4th. His many fights with Terry O'Reilly were epic.

There will be, at most, 10 players who have 80 points this year. And you expect Giroux to put up 93 points and Voracek to put up 81? Not gonna happen.

Clark still calls that his toughest fight ever....He said Wilson was actually smiling at him even as Clark was punching him in the head. He just kept swinging or he thought Wilson would have killed him.

Not straight up but it's a player like kane the flyers need.He can score,he can skate, and he can knock your teeth out.

I know the game is different, but take any top-50 fighter from the 70s/80s and they'd be a terror in today's game. When guys fight nowadays, it's hold the guy at arm's length, rabbit punch, throw wild haymaker, hold at arm's length, repeat. Guys in the 70s/80s weren't afraid to take a punch (in Tie Domi's pre-Burt days, 2 or 3 punches) to land one.

Brown was the "man"....He was a "professional" fighter on the ice....back when that meant something in the NHL.
Imagine kane on Giroux line.I'm sure he gets 30 goals and nobody would mess with Giroux. Kane is a beast of a fighter.

Why do we need a player who can score and knock your teeth out? Aren't we all upset than Simmonds has to fight but we'd rather him be on the ice?
Honestly, some players that you MIGHT be able to get with Jake as the centerpiece would be Filip Forsberg, Jeff Skinner, or Max Pacioretty. I'm not a Skinner fan, but the guy's a natural left wing (just like the other 2), but he'll always have injury concerns. Forsberg and MaxPac would require more than Jake, but he could be the centerpiece..
The first 2 were great. The one where Domi put the heavyweight belt on was great, and then in the second one, you saw why Probert was the king. In that fight, he misses with a right hand roundhouse that probably would have knocked Domi out.

Even then, I doubt Nashville would trade Forsberg. He's still young, putting up real solid numbers and signed to a decent contract

You'd probably have to eat some to get Forsberg. I was just thinking of left wingers with speed that could maybe be had. But it would probably cost you Jake with some retained plus one of our D prospects or high picks.
Also, if Washington doesn't make that horrible Forsberg for Erat trade, they probably have a Stanley Cup right now.

Now I want to see the 4th line upgraded which hopefully happens with the first 3 lines being upgraded a bit and I want to see kids injected in the lineup next year like (hopefully he is ready) Lindblom, Vecchione (also hopefully he is ready) or even Leier, THat said and without knowing his PK ability, I really would have preferred McDonald over CVV this year if having to choose between the two. Not saying I prefer McDonald over a kid, etc....just saying between the two.,

Is there confirmation it's a concussion for Gudas?
Looking at the hit again the impact seems to be mainly with his chest, and I thought I heard a report during the NJ game that he was having trouble breathing during the 2nd intermission. - Feanor
my worse concussion came was a very harmless hit. I simply clipped shoulders with a guy....very little contact. it was the whipping motion of my head that caused the concussion. Now I have no idea if the injury is even a concussion. just saying doesn't really matter that his head wasn't hit

I had pretty severe whiplash from an accident and, yeah, it had all the tell-tale signs of a concussion. Had trouble focusing, and was put on 24-hour bedrest with no lights for 3 days. They are zero percent fun.

Evander Kane. The guy who has hit 30 goals once in 7 seasons? And hasnt cracked 50 points since the 2011-2012 season? That Evander Kane?
I can't stand him. Off ice antics aside the guy disappears on ice for long stretches and just isn't all that great aside from the tough stuff. Put him on this team right now and I don't even think he knocks anyone out of our top 6.
