If Hextall doesn't change any of these core players there will be no need for excitement next year.He needs to send a message to these guys.Missing the playoffs with this payroll is unacceptable. You can not move forward with 2 guys eating up 16 million and producing under 60 pts a season. If he doesn't make any moves to me he is not ready to be a big time gm.What an achievement to be the only team to win 10 in a row and miss the playoffs. WTF??He actually said this team showed lots of heart the last 10 games.LOL.Get a frigging clue

I'm not disagreeing, but what's the trade you'd make to shake up the core?
And I do think the team has shown a lot more heart recently, but it's concerning they didn't for the better part of January and February.

Voracek already has 60 points. Giroux needs 3 in the last 3 games to reach 60.

The worst fighter in Flyers history. - jmatchett383
Well, you'd have to specify. I'm not saying they're the worst, but would guys like Lindros, Gratton, Forbes, and Zubrus be included? Or Timonen? Or would you keep it to guys who were primarily fighters? I don't know if Roman Vopat ever won a fight as a Flyer.
Whenever I think of Vopat, I think of his fight with Barnaby. Barnaby wasn't a coward, but he wasn't a top heavy, either. In the fight, he's more interested in chirping the Flyers bench than he is about fighting Vopat because he's not afraid of getting hit.
OK great .I will say under 65 pts for 8 million dollar is not good enough. You make that money you need to be close to 80 pts. - flyeredup85
You do realize that only 6 players in the NHL have 80 or more points and that, at most, only 1 or maybe 2 more might reach that level.
Right now, 65 points would have you 28th in the league and 70 points would have you tied for 12th. If you finish with 65 or more points you are, without question, a 1st line player, and first line players get paid that kind of money.

Of guys who fought regularly, some of the worst at it were:
Andre Dupont
Don Saleski
Lindsay Carson
Scott Daniels
Riley Cote
Here are some guys that could legitimately hurt you in a fight:
Dave Schultz (often with a headbutt, LOL)
Mel Bridgman
Paul Holmgren
Behn Wilson
Dave Brown
Eric Lindros
Donald Brashear

Honestly I wouldn't know. That's for hextall to decide.I would like to get a real goal scorer for jake.Someone who can provide 30 goals a season.Weather that's possible or not is unknown.I think a guy like Evander Kane could be a good fit.It seems like he is improving his attitude. I don't think buffalo has any interest in jake though. It was a little meaningless to show heart when you really didn't have a chance. All they did was make sure they don't get a top 10 pick.Just like a few years ago. They were sitting to pick 8th went on a winning streak when it didn't matter. They end up getting Morin at 11 buffalo gets ristolainen at 8.Just really frustrated with the lack of improvement. Seems it's been like this for 5-6 yrs.

I would think a five fight minimum across their career....
If Voracek puts up 65, does the number go up to 70? - jmatchett383

I would be furious if they traded Voracek straight up for Evander Kane. Voracek needs to be more consistent and assert himself more, but I'm taking him over Kane every day.

Yeah but then the core doesn't get shaken up and we still suck on the road
