Skiing might be most popular on TV, but in the blogosphere and in other online forums, the landscape is different. A Nielsen analysis of Internet buzz from February 9th to 18th shows that hockey is the most discussed Olympic sport online. Among all online messages related to winter Olympic sports, more than 30% were linked to hockey. Luge generated the second highest amount of buzz over that time, with almost 18%, followed by figure skating with 10% of Olympics sports buzz.

So unless there's a way to monetize "buzz," hockey won't be missed much.

The 2010 gold medal game did garner an average of 27.6m viewers, no doubt owing to the two teams. I doubt a Russia-Finland final would've garnered the same attention.

Can't be afraid to play. I will say I would love to see the Flyers have a big bruiser who can play. Don't want a goon who is a 4th line body like "in the old days". Someone like, dare I say it, Wilson in Washington
