Yep as soon as Prout made a bee line from the bench to Gudas he was getting a Game misconduct. MacDonald was first on the scene but then Simmonds had him step aside.
I dress Morin and pair him with Ghost.

being the Phantoms don't play again until Wed at home I wouldn't mind seeing Morin up for a game but I don't think they will do it. do they even have the cap space to call anyone else up? |

Without looking at the numbers, I'd have to imagine that a one-day prorated Morin hit can't be all that much. Have they had to use LTIR this season? |

Can someone please explain to me why this is? Why can't late-season college FA's play in the AHL (like Alex Lyon)? - jmatchett383
If he signed an ATO to finish out the season and his ELC was starting next season, then he could play for the Phantoms. That's what Friedman is doing and what Bardreau did two years ago. |

Well then im watching the recall wire and if that happens I would then call up morin and goulbourne. I understand you don't want to goon it up but protecting our players is number 1. I doubt that happens though. |

Were they required to start his ELC this year, or was that likely a stipulation that he asked for? |

Goulborune has spent more time the ECHL than the AHL this year. I don't think he's ready for an NHL shot. |

I'm not disagreeing, but what's the trade you'd make to shake up the core?
And I do think the team has shown a lot more heart recently, but it's concerning they didn't for the better part of January and February. - jmatchett383

Provorov is really good. Amac should not kill penalties. Filpula was a solid pick up.
That is all. |

Vecchione must have demanded they burn the first year of his ELC as a condition of signing. As his signing age (age as of 9/15) was 24, that was the only year. |

Right now he can play, but when he plays a game for the Flyers (which he needs to start the ELC) he wouldn't be AFAIK |

The modus operandi of this team the last 4-5 years has been: bad to sluggish season starts, a Nov-Dec surge, a new year nosedive, and a late season surge. Their chances of making the playoffs depended on how bad the new year slump was and how much of a late season surge they could make. The core of this team had gotten stale and it's apparent that changes need to be made. I'll continue to promote the notion that they desperately need a 2nd line center to drive 5v5 play. Hexy better get to work this offseason. |

Neither can I, though IMO nothing about that hit merited a major or a suspension. At worst it was a minor for late/ and or charging. |

Coots can be an enigma. I know he "drives possession" and has good 5v5 pts/60, but he doesn't seem to produce offensive results consistently. Then again, he's been shifted around the lineup, had his role changed several times, and had a bunch of different wingers. He's also still one of the better defensive forwards in the game. I like him more than some people, but Schenn is the one I'd move. PP or not, 25 goals would get you a decent return. |

I have no idea what the rules are but I asked the question when the Flyers signed him and a few people came back with no. |

Hextall already added a center and improved the team's 5 on 5 play. |

Del Zotto, Neuvirth, Streit, Gordon and Laughton all spent time on LTIR

I would have thought this too but I have come around. I actually think moving Simmonds makes sense. I think his contract allows for every team to bid since it's easy to fit even on a playoff team.
I have liked the Couturier/Schenn pairing together. I think you add a guy like Weal and that could be a dangerous line.
Also eventually Simmonds is going to need a deal and seeing what Backes and Ladd got I could see Simmonds in that area or more. |
